Fifty-seven-year-old martial arts star, Gordon Liu (劉家輝) suffered from a stroke in August last year and resulted in paralysis in one side of his body. Gordon reportedly entered into depression and refused visits from his friends and colleagues. After a year of treatment, Gordon has recovered gradually and is currently undergoing physical therapy. According to his friends’ statements, Gordon hopes to stand up again and return to filming dramas.
Gordon Liu’s Confidence Increases
Gordon was spotted dining with his friends earlier. Wearing a cap and a mask, Gordon sat in a wheelchair while his friend pushed him into a café. It was obvious that he had lost much weight but he appeared to be in a better spirit than before. Since admitting into a nursing home in Kowloon, Gordon only allowed his close friends to visit him.
Amy Fan (樊亦敏) who has visited Gordon revealed that he made progressive improvement since receiving the physical therapy and he is also able to stand up now. Amy also disclosed that Gordon was motivated after Eric Tsang’s (曾志偉) visit. After Gordon received an iPad from Eric, Gordon has been watching his old films and listening to songs every day. He is also encouraged by Eric’s concern and is trying his best to receive treatment.
Gordon’s assistant, Eva, also revealed that Gordon was able to walk for a short distance with the assistance of others. Gordon hopes to resumes his work once he has fully recovered.
Divorce Due to Differences in Personalities?
Earlier, Gordon’s second wife, who is from Thailand, reportedly instigated their 20-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter to demand a monthly household allowance of $7,000 HKD from Gordon when he was ill. Mrs. Liu also eyed Gordon’s savings and a property worth $7.5 million HKD. Gordon reportedly decided to divorce his wife after she constantly demanded money from him. Currently in Thailand, Gordon’s wife broke her silence and denied allegations that she was after his money.
Mrs. Liu insisted that they separated due to differences in personalities. “In 1991, I registered marriage with Gordon in Hong Kong. After that, we had a son and a daughter. It’s a pity that after giving birth to my daughter, I realized that we have different personalities. He likes to drink and is flirtatious. All along, I relied on my faith and the mindset that I will raise my children to maintain this marriage. In 2009 that Gordon decided to send our son to Singapore to further his studies. I was also thinking if I should start all over again. Under the arrangement by Gordon, I signed on the divorce papers. I told him that I was willing to divorce with him, but I wanted half of his property to be transferred under my son’s name. I hope that it will be a form of guarantee for my children and after that, I went to Thailand to stay.”
When pressed further as to whether she was officially divorced from Gordon, Mrs. Liu said that she did not know, as Gordon had changed his lawyer without notifying her.
Mrs. Liu Denies Eyeing Gordon’s Money
When asked if she was demanding money from Gordon, Mrs. Liu replied, “After he got a stroke, I immediately returned to Hong Kong from Thailand to take care of him. As my income is not that good, I need to borrow $20,000 HKD of living expenses from my friends and relatives. When I signed on the divorce papers, I did not request for one cent at all. So, when was I greedy? I only borrowed $30,000 HKD from Gordon when my business was not doing well two years ago. At that time, Gordon did not suffer from the stroke yet. After he got a stroke, I never asked a single cent from him and never chased him to transfer his property to our name.”
Gordon’s son, Kris, also disclosed that he had decided to stop his studies for a year to help relieve his father’s financial burden. He currently works as a waiter. Kris hopes to be able to take care of his father.
Thai Wife and Children Prohibited From Visiting Gordon
Mrs. Liu admitted that she had thought of sending Gordon to Thailand so that it would be more convenient for her to take care of him. She further revealed that a person had forbidden her to send Gordon to Thailand. “Someone had intervened last month. My children and I were prohibited from seeing Gordon. In addition, there was news that Gordon was estranged from his family and we were after his assets. I feel that there is a need to clarify all these rumors.”
Gordon’s son also shared that he had tried his means to visit Gordon, but was always refused by nurses. Mrs. Liu hoped that her children can reunite with Gordon and they wanted to know the state of his condition. Asked who had been stopping them from visiting Gordon, Mrs. Liu declined to name the person.
Gordon’s Liu Assistant: “Gordon Decides Who He Wants to See”
Gordon Liu’s assistant, Eva, dismissed Mrs. Liu’s claims that someone had intervened to separate Gordon from his family. Eva said, “It’s entirely Gordon that decides who he wants to see and who he does not want to see. No one is doing anything to manipulate him. Earlier, Jamie Luk (陸劍明), Bryan Leung (梁家仁), and Eric Tsang (曾志偉) visited him. Gordon Liu only wants to recover from his illness. We hope that his family can let him recuperate in peace. When he recovers, he will step forward and explain everything.”

courtesy of mingpao.com
Daniel Chan Hiu Tung in the film WE NOT NAUGHTY (HAI JI BUT WAI) played a loving teacher CK. In one scene he streaked to fulfill a promise he made to the students. During the shoot, Chan Hiu Tung only wore a pair of underwear. At first the director joked, "The special effect costs a lot of money, it's not like you don't have a butt. Since you have one, just shoot it!" Chan Hiu Tung struggled for a long time before hand. Luckily his fans saved him and asked the director to try to show from the back. The long range shot felt like he was naked and after the censorship blocks it would be nude.
Chan Hiu Tung said that the location was remote and very windy. After several hours he was covered in goose bumps; however he was confident that he was very strong and would not caught a cold. - [2012.08.30] ANDY LAU AND SAMMI CHENG CAUSE A STIR IN MONGKOK
courtesy of mingpao.com
Sammi Cheng Sau Man and Andy Lau Tak Wa two nights ago worked on the Johnnie To Kei Fung film THE BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM) on the streets of Mongkok. Their appearance almost turned Mongkok upside down as several hundred onlookers crowded the nearby streets. Both stars were able to focus on their production, indeed they were rather professional. Playing blind in the film, Wa Jai also looked convincing when he walked with his cane.
Two days ago around dusk, To Kei Fung appeared on the busy streets of Mongkok and scouted the location around a Taiwanese style snack shop with the crew. Around 7PM, Sammi arrived in a gray suit with the crew. To Sir and Soi Cheang Po Shui explained the shoot content to her. Because the location was already filled with people, every step Sammi took needed the crew to open the road for her first. Although it was hot and many were present, Sammi was in a decent mood. After a few minutes, Sammi returned to her vehicle to rest. earlier she worked on another scene. She had to carry take outs while talking on her mobile phones and walking.! She ap peared to be tripping over herself.
Lau Tak Wa appeared after 8PM in a suit. When Wa Jai arrived, the crowd roared and surrounded him. When Wa Jai walked from his vehicle to the rest tent, he had to stop twice over the one block distance. The scene was chaotic. Wa Jai could only personally maintain order as he often greeted the media. Wa Jai in the film played blind, earlier he went to a center for the blind to understand the daily life of the vision impaired. Two nights ago he walked with a cane and looked convincing. Due to too many onlookers, the director decided to take a dinner break first. The crew had to use ropes so Wa Jai could leave. Sammi stood in the center of the road but could not be picked up. Later she had to move to a back alley and wait. Many pedestrians and vehicles passed by. Sammi appeared somewhat uncomfortable. Her assistant handed her tissue for her perspiration. During the period, fans brought her candy. How did Sammi feel about shoot in the busy city? She said that she was elated.
Two days ago was Sammi's lunar birthday. She posted online, "Today is my birthday. I have a lot to do. Although I am not celebrating I like the beautiful reminder that this day brings. Have you physically love friends around you? When you true love someone, sometimes you would truly love until it hurts. Saying love is very easy, this world actually needs more acts of love. When love hurts, you still have to keep going; when you shed tears from the pain, you still have to persist."
Although two nights ago Sammi had to work all night, before work she read the Bible. She also posted online, "Before going out to work, I read the Bible and the words of the Lord. This is Mi's secret gas station! Although today has a tough over night shoot, I am excited because everyday I would have some interesting new discoveries at work, in life and in the world. As I truly know myself more, I learn the importance of humility. How high is the sky, how deep is the sea. Ho! w much d oes humanity matter? How much do I matter? Thank you Lord for you love, because of that my soul is finally complete." - [2012.08.30] LAN KWAI FONG 2 NEGLECTS SAFETY IN MONGKOK
Calinda Chan claims that she was felt up amid the chaos courtesy of on.cc courtesy of mingpao.com
The film LAN KWAI FONG 2 (HEI OI YEH PO 2)'s actors Kelvin Kwan Chor Yiu, Shiga Lin Si Nga, "Ma Model" Mia, Avis Chan Wai Sing and others two nights ago reprised the "walk backward" scene in Mongkok but did not arrange for any security, only a few workers formed human chain to protect the artists. Of course in the end it was not too useful as the crowd flocked. In order to take photos or to catch a glimpse of the artists th! ey pushe d and shoved, blond young people began to exchange foul language. The scene was extremely chaotic and completely neglected the people and the media's safety.
As for walking in the crowd, Mia actually continued to push up three inches of "career line" on her chest and posed for photographers. She said that because she was in the midst of career she could not put away her chest. When the box office reached 6 million she would have to celebrate. She also said that she sensed the passion of the people. Speaking of the foul language, Mia said that she truly was somewhat afraid as she has never seen such chaos. She would suggest security next time. Shiga also said that each girl had male protection. They each had 42 inch chests and studied kung fu. Was she worried about a stampede? Shiga helplessly said, "I never thought about it. This time was completely unexpected. I am very happy to be able to in contact with viewers in such close distance. I haven't been to Mongkok for awhile. I really don't know how it is now." Mia also said that next time they might promote indoors. The film company could also plan a little better.
Director Wilson Chin Kwok wai said that he knew nothing before hand. He thought public relations would provide security. Were they trying to save money? He had no idea. Actually he too would have brought out the foul language. This time must be looked at in detail. - [2012.08.30] DIRECTOR CHAN MAN PASSED AWAY

courtesy of on.cc
Joey Yung Cho Yi, Janice Man Wing Shan, Marie Zhuge, Hilary Tsui Ho Ying and Linah Matsuoka attended a fashion label event. Both linked to Wilfred Lau Ho Lung, Janice Man and Joey became the focus as they shared the stage.
Was sharing the stage awkward for Joey and JM? Joey said that she did not know her boyfriend Lau Ho Lung was linked to JM. Would she ask her boyfriend about his past romance? Joey said, "I am not a reporter, JM and I have chatted." Speaking of the new film being less than ideal at the box office, Joey said that many friends said that they liked the DIVA story. The word of mouth was decent. She understood that this was not a mainstream film so the company wanted her to promote more. However later she will have to work a record, she will have to make room on her schedule to promote.
Speaking of her film being unable to break the 4 million mark at the box office, Joey said, "It may not be my responsibility. (Would you be disappointed?) I already expected the result, I wouldn't be too disappointed. Actually it wasn't ! too bad. The boss said that it was acceptable. Was she afraid of being called "box office poison"? Joey said that she did not primarily make movies. She joked that if someone wanted her to warn off evil she would be OK. Yesterday was Nicholas Tse Ting Fung's birthday. Joey said that she would send her well wishes privately or perhaps later would study acting with him.
Would JM gossip about Joey and Si Hing's romance? She said that she would have no reason to ask about that as soon as they saw each other. It would be very strange. She also said that she did not have much to gossip about and when she and Joey chatted they would not talk about romance. Did Joey have a good attitude? JM siad, "Why not? Our rumor was so fake that no one would believe it. I am happy for them." JM earlier returned from working on a film in Kunming. This time she worked with Mainland actors. Bugs were a local delicacy and everyone knew she was afraid. Thus they often scared her. She said that she was already half a vegetarian. For a movie she would make the sacrifice for art. - [2012.08.29] GORDON LIU HOPES TO STAND AGAIN
At age 23 in the 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN KILL BILL
courtesy of mingpao.com
Martial art star Gordon Liu (Lau Ka Fai) after a fall in August last year suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. After a ye! ar of th erapy, Lau Ka Fai is recovering. According to friends, he has been actively accepting physical therapy in hopes of standing up again and bring back "Lau Ka Fai".
Last year Lau Ka Fai was hospitalized, the condition was severed as he was rumored to be half paralyzed; the always agile star became disillusioned. He transferred from Queen Elizabeth Hospital to Kowloon hospital for treatment, due to a stroke he was immobile.
The 57 year old Lau Ka Fai months ago was admitted into a care and attention homes for the elderly. Earlier Lau Ka Fai's friends and relatives took him to a nearby restaurant for dim sum. Lau Ka Fai was in a wheelchair and friends pushed him out of the home. He wore a baseball cap, medical mask, a polo shirt, pajamas bottom and sneakers. Although he was much slimmer than before, he appeared to be in decent spirit. Friends and relatives spent over a hour at afternoon tea with him before pushing the wheelchair bound Lau Ka Fai back to the home.
Because Lau Ka Fai declined outside contact after hospitalization, only a few industry insiders were able to visit him and rumors about his condition were numerous. Reportedly Lau Ka Fai after the stroke was paralyzed on the right side of his body, less than mobile and slurring in speech. Among the friends who were with Lau Ka Fai were good friend and assistant Eva; reportedly Eva was also Amy Fan Yik Man's assistant. The reporter contacted Amy for an understanding. Amy said that several days ago she also visited Lau Ka Fai and his recovery has been going great.
Amy said that Brother Ka Fai was in recovery. In comparison to his condition after the stroke last year he has made tremendous progress already. He could stand. Why he was in a wheelchair in and out of the home? She said that Brother Ka Fai was actively accepting physical therapy. Due to a stroke he was not as mobile as before but his mobility has already improved. Due to the distance from the home to the restaurant it was more difficult for h! im to wa lk, so the wheelchair was more convenient. As for slurring speech, Amy said, "When Brother Ka Fai wants to talk he talks very orderly and clearly, especially when it is a topic that he likes. When he gets frustrated and doesn't want to talk, he would simply say 'keep quiet', 'very frustrated' and even turn silent. Every time he hears his co-workers miss him, he would happily smile."
Amy also said that Eric Tsang Chi Wai's visit was a huge encouragement. Chi Wai gave him an iPad, now everyday he would watch his movies and listen to songs. He loved to sing the Grasshoppers' PARADISE LOST (SUT LOK YUEN). He needed care very much. After Chi Wai's visit his confidence was greatly increased. Everyday he would work hard on physical therapy. Amy did not talk to him about work, but right now he is very positive. Of course he wanted to completely recover and return to work.
Lau Ka Fai reportedly had family trouble and his family did not take care of him? Amy was uncertain about other people's family matter and was not at liberty to discuss, but as far as she understood Lau Ka Fai's finances had no problem. Due to his great relationships with industry insiders, many friends have offered to help.
The reporters also contacted his assistant Eva. She said that Lau Ka Fai's physical theraphy has made huge progress. She could help him walk for awhile and he was not paralyzed as rumored. As for rumors about Lau Ka Fai's condition, she said that the condition was that bad. Making him sound pitiful would affect the patient as well. He now has many suitable care and many people's care. Everyone ewants to see him stand up again and recover to the Lau Ka Fai of before.
Lau Ka Fai last year worked on TVB's WISH AND SWITCH (WOON LOK MO KUNG) but was recast due to the hospitalization. He still is a TVB contract artist. Artist resource director Elaine Lok Yi Ling said that she has always kept up with Lau Ka Fai's condition and knew he had progress. He has not asked the company f! or assis tance and only wanted some private space to recover.
The Performing Artist Guild pointed out that Lau Ka Fai for now did not want any outside contact. The stuntman reunion's stunt people wanted to visit him but Lau Ka Fai did not want to yet. Tsang Chi Wai has set up a fund, as long as Lau Ka Fai's family had needs he would gladly assist. - [2012.08.29] ANDY LAU AND SAMMI CHENG INVADES MONGKOK AT NIGHT
Sammi Cheng Sau Man and Andy Lau Tak Wa worked together on the film THE BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM) last year shot on the busy streets of Mongkok and attracted many onlookers. Many onlookers in order to see Sammi walked to the edge on the street and drew the attention of traffic police. The crew urged everyone to be careful. Sammi was causally dressed. When she took her mark, after Soi Cheang Po Shui and To Kei Fung's simple instructions she brought a note to the snack shop for take out. Although it was a short scene, the director wanted perfection and Sammi had to play it many times; to maintain order, after each shot she would return to her vehicle to rest. Light and Shadow Ekin Cheng in Concert two nights ago held its last show at the Hong Kong Coliseum as the four show series came to an end. Two nights ago YOUNG AND DANGEROUS (GOO WAT JAI) quintet Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Chin Kar Lok, Jerry Lam Hiu Fung, Jason Chu Wing Tong and Jordan Chan Siu Chun gathered on a rare occasion. They even invited YOUNG AND DANGEROUS director Andrew Lau Wai Keung to sing FRIENDSHIP AGE (YAU CHING SHUI YUET) together. They even took the chance to force Ekin to propose, unfortunately they did not succeed as Ekin in the end refused to publicly propose to his girlfriend. Yet at the celebration banquet, Ekin finally promised to marry Yoyo Mung Ka Wai next year.
Chin Kar Lok and Lam Hiu Fung were guests on all four nights. Lam Hiu Fung and Ekin asked the audience to congratulate "Ying Ying Lok Lok", Angela Tong Ying Ying laughed happily in the aud! ience. A viewer even presented a wedding photo book to Kar Lok. At this time, Chan Siu Chun and Chu Wing Tong suddenly appeared. Later they even dragged Lau Wai Kung to the stage for a rare YOUNG AND DANGEROUS reunion. They embraced on the stage. Lau Wai Keung admitted that after a decade or so people still asked him to make YOUNG AND DANGEROUS; he also said that next year a YOUNG AND DANGEROUS concert should be held. Earlier he had the idea but due to Chan Siu Chun it fell through.
Later everyone switched their target as they took turn interrogating Ekin. Kar Lok said to Ekin, "You promise you you have to say it on the 27th." Ekin said, "Right, I am announcing your wedding!" Chan Siu Chun said to Ekin, "Don't be mad, let's give some applause to Mung Ka Wai!" The audience immediately screamed and clapped. Ekin was so frightened that his mouth was gaping. "Sure, let me talk about that. I have to protect my girlfriend too." Then he immediately rushed several buddies off the stage. Before going, Siu Chun jibbed, "Give her a name!"
Ekin on the stage said that his profession was a singer but his relationship with his girlfriend was very private. He said, "I am a very romantic person, but I don't like to open up my personal life for the public to see. If not, how can I sing love songs for everyone." The audience instantly jeered. At this time, Leo Ku Kui Ke suddenly appeared and surprised Ekin. Ekin said, "I just sent them away and you appear, you won't......" Gei Jai joked that he would not mention the word "wedding" and would replace it with "beep beep". Later he asked the entire audience to scream "Ekin, Yoyo, hurry up and 'beep beep'." Ekin joked, "Then I 'beep beep' you, relax, I will invite you to the wedding banquet."
Ekin at the celebration was asked why he declined to propose in public? He said it was private. Has he proposed yet? He said, "Don't worry about it, when I wed I will announce it. It won't be this year." Will he wed next year? He finally admitted! , "Yes! But I won't say the place and time. (Will you follow Chin Kar Lok's lead and have both wedding and parenthood?) That's pretty good too." Ekin this time showed off his abdominal muscles at the concert. When he shook hands did fans "cop a feel"? He said that he did not feel it. - [2012.08.29] GOLDEN HORSE AMBASSDOR EDDIE PENG MISSES YILAN

Eddie Peng Yu-Yen two years ago rose to fame with JUMP! ASHIN and was even nominated for the Golden Horse Best Actor. This year Peng Yu-Yen was invited to be the Golden Horse Award ambassador. Two days ago he attended the Golden Horse press conference in Yilan. Speaking of this place turning him around, he admitted that he was sentimental about coming back. He remembered when he made JUMP! he was in a hellish training here for most of the year. He especially missed Yilan snacks.
The 49th Golden Horse Award will take place on November 24 in Yilan. The Golden Horse Film Festival chair Hou Hsiao-Hsien appeared in the promotional press conference. Last year's Golden Horse image advertisement was Hou Hsiao-Hsien directed with Best Actor Ethan Juan (Yuen King Tin). This year JUMP! director Lin Yu-Hsien will be at the helm. courtesy of on.cc courtesy of mingpao.com courtesy of takungpao.com
The Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Lau Ching Wan, Mini Yang Mi starred THE BULLET VANISHES (SIU SUT DIK JI DAN) will be released on September 13 in Hong Kong. Yang ! Mi in th e film played a fortune teller with a bird. Because of the information she provided Tse Ting Fung enemies showed up at her doorstep. Ting Fung risked his life to save her and fought off the enemies. Finally he saved her with his invincible shooting.
For this scene, a thug who was trying to kill Yang Mi beat her until her face was swollen. The team at first hoped to create Yang Mi's injuries with special effect make up. During the shoot however the thug punched toward Yang Mi, who was not able to dodge it in time and her face instantly became swollen.
In another scene, Yang Mi needed to be thrown to the ground then kicked. The scene was shot five or six times before director Law Chi Leung was satisfied. Poor Yang Mi's head hit the ground hard time and time again and Law Chi Leung's heart could not ache more. Finally he could not help but run over to see whether Yang Mi was truly injured. The professional yang Mi only boldly told the director, "I am fine, don't worry about me. Keep shooting!"
Ting Fung did not have an easy time in this shoot either. He had to fight two thugs. For realism, all the actors fought hard. After the shoot Ting Fung could not be more tired.
The thugs who took a beating from Ting Fung rammed toward a light box and a glass window and needed wires for the shoot. The detail minded Ting Fung in order to ensure the extra's safety asked them to be very careful time and again and to watch his gesture and react. For the glass breaking scene, two extras went backward and the glass shattered, covering Tse Ting Fung all over. Some almost hit Ting Fung's eyes. He and Yang Mi for this "heroic rescue" scene truly have suffered. - TVB News: Joe Ma Regret that He Didn't Get A Single TVB Award in 18 Years and his thoughts on his co-partners
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/Prior to Joe Ma's entry into showbiz, he was a police officer and has been in G4 (VIP Protection Unit) before. He protected several political figures including former governor, Chinese high official, and even Prince Charles and Princess Diana. This year is Queen Elizabeth's 60th anniversary on the throne and since Hong Kong used to be under British rule, the people of HK have a special feeling for royal family of England. Joe feels honored to have protected the Prince and Princess before! Joe had been with TVB for 18 years and gain recognition from Triumph in the Skies. He said it was all based on luck, even if it he's promoted to a Siu Sang, he still got no awards!JOE: I was a police officer before I entered showbiz. At the time, I wanted to help my family out and thought police was a stabled job. Also, I was very passionate back then and wanted to contribute to society. After spending two years at the police training school, I graduated and became an uniform officer. I remember my first time on beat with a colleague and wrote the ticket wrong. That time, I thought being in the police was like what you see in those cop and robber movies, but I didn't encounter any big cases, it was quite peaceful.
The most frightening time was when I was chasing after a thief. Actually I'm considered athletic, but when you have to run in an uniform and carry a police duty belt, it is a different story. I really think the police uniform is set up all wrong, and we had to run in leather shoes while holding onto our cap too. The entire uniform is like over 10 pounds, it's basically impossible to catch the thief, so stupid! A year later, I switched to being an officer responsible for handling disturbances and demonstrations, but then after another year, I switched to being a police without the uniform. I still had to carry a gun, but never used it. People say it's a good thing. I used handcuffs before to detain the criminal though, but then I didn't feel it was challenging enough, so I applied into G4. At the time I was only 20 years old.
Protected Prince Charles and Princess DianaG4 is primarily responsible for protecting political figures. I've protected Prince Charles and Princess Diana before, as well as former Singapore prime minister (Lee Kuan Yew), former Chinese high official and the former governor. I really think I'm lucky, since I could be on the same elevator as the royal family. Prince Charles is a gentleman, who gave me a strong feeling of nobility. Princess Diana is very nice and friendly. One time she was shopping in Central and asked me to carry her bags, but I said I cannot do that. She was very understanding and carried her own bags.
After 3 or 4 years in G4, I changed jobs and became a model. I was in the police force before, so I had and ideal body figure for a model. Then I encountered a TVB person and they told me its a good company. At the time, my salary as a police was HK$12,000, and at TVB it was only HK$9000, but there will be other income when your an artist, so I decided to sign a contract with them.
When I first entered TVB, they were preparing to shoot a Wynners' series The Chord to Victory and said I was going to be Kenny Bee or Anthony Chan, but that never happened. Wallace Chung took the role. My first official series was Heroes From Shaolin, I was a really annoying villain. Actually I never learned acting before, but what I remember most was one time we were shooting at a Buddhist monastery, I didn't know anything. Luckily Eddie Cheung and the other artists led me into character! The first few years at TVB, all of my roles were villains. I asked the producer why I'm the only one playing these roles? He said I'm tall and good as the antagonist.
18 Years with TVB, Didn't Get a Single TVB Award
I was in the industry for 7 years before I finally got to participate in 2000's The Threshold of an Era. Although I was still a villain, at least I got a supporting role. I was no longer in the third or fifth line. At least when I go out, there were reporters who wanted to interview me. That time, I still remember I had scenes opposite of Liza Wang, she is a very serious and a prepared person. She's always advising me and said that artists should always be aware of surroundings, even if I'm not working. I thought Ah Jeh (Liza) was very professional. She's definitely my idol and mentor!
Then I was given a role in Triumph in the Skies. It was my first time I got a taste of being popular. Later, when I was helping Flora Chan shoot an MV in Stanley, there were suddenly 30-40 students chasing after me. It turns out they just wanted to take pictures and get my autograph. TITS was such a success, but I didn't even get one My Favorite Character award at TVB. At the time of the anniversary awards, only 10 episodes aired and my scenes didn't come until after 20 something episodes. The next anniversary was already too far, so sometimes it's about luck. Actually Revolving Doors of Vengeance was a pretty popular hit too, but I still didn't get any awards. I've been with TVB for 18 years and didn't get a single award, even I think that is one of my regrets!
Joe Ma has been said to have vigorous peach blossoms (girls), indeed he has had countless rumors since his debut. Almost all of the female artists he had worked with gets a rumor with him. Of course, time proves everything, many of his so-called rumored girlfriends are in fact his good friends.JOE: Many people call me a "FaDan Killer". Actually Moses Chan has that title too! Haha! Honestly, there are just two types of rumors in this industry, two artists are dating or two artists are on bad terms. Well, I rarely have any bad term rumors, it's usually just dating rumors!
I've worked with many actresses, such as Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan, Ada Choi, Charmaine Sheh, Sonija Kwok, Flora Chan, and many more. Let's talk a little bit about Ada Choi. She's a very good artist to learn from because she treats people very well. She makes the people around her feel comfortable and because I'm a Cancer and I've been a police officer before, I'm very defensive. That's why I don't have many friends, she is the one who opened me up.
I still remember one time we had to shoot early in the morning in the studio. That time I lived in Yuen Long, and couldn't awake up. At the time, I was shooting the series with her, so I called her right away. I told her I overslept and I'm flying over there. Ada heard this and immediately said: "Whatever you do, don't speed! I'll put on my makeup slowly and try to stall a little." Before she hangs up, she asked me if I had breakfast yet. She's really that good of a person!
As for Charmaine, I collaborated with her in several series. The first one should be in 2001 Country Spirit. People say she's always letting out her 'electricity', but I only feel one thing about her, she's just amazing. She is the only person I've seen that could withstand working overnight. We could get our days and nights confused, but she still manages to maintain the same good looks, nothing changes. She's an actress that never gets overworked! Sometimes we shoot continuously t! hrough t he nights, she says she's very tired, but she still looks so awake and high spirited. I think she's just a natural beauty, haha! Also, Charmaine's EQ is extremely high. She has a very good temper and sometimes when she hears negative comments, she'll just laugh it off. You will never see her upset. This is the deepest impression Charmaine left on me.
Sonija Kwok is a person that can really eat. That time we were shooting for several months in Mainland. The environment in Mainland is pretty hard, but she didn't complained at all. She has a straightforward personality.
My wife in Triumph in the Skies, Flora Chan, she's actually technically my senior. That time, she was already very popular. She taught me a lot. I remember when we were shooting the first scene in TITS, it was pretty intimate. She said I don't have to mind at all, just put my hands on her. In fact, sometimes in kiss scenes, the actor is actually not unnatural than the actress. After all, men can easily get misunderstood. If the actress is as open as Flora, then you feel a lot more comfortable to do the scene.

Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/Niki Chow's 33rd birthday, still an 18 year old insideYesterday Niki Chow, Mandy Wong and Vincent Wong started their first day of filming for TVB new series A Good Heart Goes Haywire. Tomorrow is Niki's 33rd birthday (August 30th), so Mandy and Vincent prepared a birthday cake to celebrate with her. The child star (Lam Wing Yu), who played the young Niki in Bottled Passion, brought a birthday gift for her as well.
Niki reveals her birthday is coincidentally on the same day as the Chinese Ghost Festival (July 14th, Lunar Calendar). She decided to celebrate with her family early and comforted herself: "Nothing is taboo for young people. Can't do anything about coincidences. As I get older, I don't want any big celebrations, but I still maintain a mental age of 18 years old! (Do you have to work on your birthday?) Yes! I didn't take a day off or anything, it would be best if the crew automatically gives me the day off. Actually the majority of my time is shooting with Bosco Wong, wait until he comes back to HK first, not sure when that is though. (Any pursuers that asked you out?) Nope, just friends and family taking up all my time. Also, I have a lot of jobs and I got a pimple today on my forehead as a gift!"
The single Niki reveals its not her first birthday without a boyfriend, so she's used to it. When speaking of her birthday wish, Niki smiled: "Don't ask me when I'm going to start dating, so stressful! But, if I'm really am dating and the relationship is stable, I would admit it. (Any one-night stands during your trip to Europe?) No! They are all people I know." Asked if she conveniently brought a wedding gift for her sister Kathy Chow, who is getting married next month? Niki expressed she didn't and avoided to respond to questions related to her sister's marriage. "I didn't schedule anything, just let her marry peacefully and happily! If she wants to say it, then she'll say it. I'm following orders, I cannot answer questions on her behalf."

Pang Ho-cheung brings his many years of experience as director and producer to craft this ode to today's Hong Kong film industry. Like Pang, producer To Wai-cheung, our protagonist, must go north to find his funding, even if it means getting involved with a Guangxi triad head named Tyrannosaurus and experiencing "the ultimate sex". Another investment precondition: convincing 197s star Susan Shaw to act in a classic porno remake named DARLING, I WANT IT TOO. Despite all the hardships, To is determined to make his film. With the uproarious, taboo-breaking Vulgaria, Pang gleefully exorcises all the restraints he has been bottling up with his bona fide, censo! rship-fr ee Hong Kong movie.
