Several days before the Golden Horse Awrads, Chapman To Man Jat was still working on his Lunar New Year film in Hengzhou. Nominated for Best Actor with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) he will go against NIGHTFALL (DAI JUI BO)'s Nick Cheung Ka Fai, THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN)'s Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, GF*BF's Joseph Chang Hau Chuen and LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLES (DUET MING GUM)'s Lau Ching Wan. He is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor with Emperor Motion Picture DIVA against WHITE DEER PLAIN's Wu Gang, GF*BF's Bryan Chang Shu-Hao, MY DEAR STILT's Cash Chuang and VULGARIA's Ronald Cheng Chung Kei. Ah Jat said that he did not have time to shop. "I have one suit at home, I rely on it for big occasions. I even rely on it for funerals, I bring it out for emergency. At most I would buy a bow tie at the airport to match it!"
Yet when he mentioned Cheng Chung Kei, Ah Jat got serious. "That day he accepted a salary that can't be lower and can't be more brother to help make VULGARIA. His scenes were where the soul of the entire film was. I know I owe him so much, I at every moment want to give him something to repay him. Unfortunately his family is rich. If he wins the Best Supporting Actor I would immediately breathe a sigh of relief."
Ah Jat admitted that history has proven that comedy and action films would often be "discounted" at award shows. After 19 years in the business he was no match for Ching Wan in terms of experience. "His acting is beyond any doubt. In terms of seniority it should be his turn no matter what! Like Sister Ka Ling (Carina Lau) he should have won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress long ago! Thus years ago when she won with DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK) seniority should occupy a certain percentage, which proved why at the time so many people wanted her to win." Speaking of his good friend Ting Fung, Ah Jat felt bad for him. "Back then his BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING) performance should have won him an award long ago!"
As for this year's nominations, Ah Jat felt that the most regrettable was the lack of Best Director nomination for VULGARIA director Pang Ho Cheung. However because this small budget production received audience recognition and exceeded expectation, no matter what the result was the film company has already arranged for a celebration for the cast and the crew to party all night.

courtesy of on.cc
Film stars Tsui Siu Keung and Shirley Yim (Shuet Lei)'s son Edward Chui Woai Dong has not been in the business for too long before landing an important role in the Emperor Motion Picture TRIAD (JAT JIK). The well toned Woai Dong is cast as a fighter. He said, "The character has two sides. Normally he is very innocent and very straight laced, but when he fights he is very vicious!" Woai Dong's personality like his character's was brave, which he admitted was the folly of his youth. In elementary school he often got into fights. "I couldn't sit still when I was little, I would fight for others. Luckily I only had superficial wounds. When my family found out of course they were mad! Grandma loves me the most, but gives me the hardest beating."
Still an acting rookie Woai Dong said that action scenes were easier than dramatic scenes. Speaking of his relationship with Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi) in the film, they met while he rescued her. He joked, "We would get married and have children, but no intimate scene! (Do you want any?) Don't let it go to waste! A little would make the response even better!"

Earlier at the Vogue magazine 120th anniversary event in Beijing she performed and rocked the event. However her deep singing voice received harsh online criticism, as it merciless called bad and some even claimed to have fainted from fright as soon as she opened her mouth.

courtesy of mingpao.com
Huang Xioaming earlier while working on his new film BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR 3D (BAK FAT MOR NUI JUEN ji MING YUET TIN GOK 3D) fell from great heights and had comminuted fracture on two left toes. Huang Xiaoming remained at the hospital for a few days. Due to a continuous fever and severe swelling of his left foot, two doctors after discussing the matter decided to operate and insert pins for him.
According to the doctors' estimates, Huang Xiaoming would not be able to stand and work for three months. WHITE director Jacob Cheung Chi Leung is currently shooting other people's scenes first, but Huang Xiaoming plans to take a wheelchair to the set for body and facial close up shots first. Cheung Chi Leung said, "Let's wait until after Huang Xiaoming receives treatment."

courtesy of mingpao.com
The Wong Kar Wai directed, Tony Leung Chiu wai and Zhang Ziyi starred THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) has been in production for years and finally announced its release on December 18. Wai Jai earlier completed his additional shoot and the entire production has wrapped. Promotions, costumes and trailers have gradually been unveiled. However, recently the film has been rumored to "retreat" from its slot in the Mainland. Yesterday at a certain cinema circuit events someone was asked about the release date. He had no answer. The rumor was that the release has been postponed for a week.
Sil-Metropole said that it has not received the Mainland official "slot retreat" or delay news. The Mainland release date will remain December 18, December 27 in Hong Kong and 28 in Taiwan; the promotional strategy and interviews have not changed as no halt information has been received. Other film releases on December 18 included Jackie Chan's CZ12, Huang Xiaoming's THE GUILLOTINES (HUET DIK JI) and Chow Yun Fat's THE LAST TYCOON (DAI SEUNG HOI).

Yesterday Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin turned 30. Early in the morning she posted online, "I got into the business at 17, today I am already 30. 30 is no big deal, it just started now. I am still young, a lot are still waiting for me. Bring it on!" Ah Sa and Dior Cheng Yi Kin worked together on the film MY SASSY HUBBY (NGOR LO GUNG NG SUN SING), which will soon be released. They said that the most memorable scene was the romantic chat in bed. Ah Sa was so touched that she naturally shed tears.

THE GUILLOTINES (HUET DIK JI) will be released on January 3 2013. The GUILLOTINES team was an Ethan Juan (Yuen King Tin) captained killer organization that took orders from the Emperor (Andrew Lau Wai Keung). They grew up together and had close relationships. Shawn Yue Man Lok was an intelligence official for the Emperor and secretly exchanged information with Yuen King Tin. During the shoot, Lau Wai Keung often had dinner and drinks with the cast. The young actors very quickly became familiar with each other and had very good chemistry. Normally when they were waiting to take their mark, the young people would find some way to kill time like playing "killer". They often chatted and laughed, and were as intimate as if they were forming a gay rights group. Even Director Lau Wai Keung surrendered. "I can't take you guys anymore!" During the shoot actors kept getting hurt. Siu Ting joked that THE GUILLOTINES truly lived up to its name, as soon as it was released blood would be spilled. Yet the blood was not the enemy's but their own. Jing Boran also said that from the blood on his hand he knew that they truly were men who shed blood for THE GUILLOTINES.
Siu Tin said that the horse riding training was very tough. Luckily after a few practices they began to gain control, then they even fell in love with horse riding. He said that he used to enjoy the freedom of driving, but now he loved horse riding even more as he was addicted to that feeling of being on the run. In the GUILLOTINES team, his "horseback abilities" were the best. He could spend an afternoon on a horse or ride a horse into town to buy food for the team. However after riding for awhile, his crotch was a bit sore. Thus starting on the second day on the horse, he asked the women of the team for tampons as padding inside his pants. He joked that riding felt much more comfortable after that.
Meanwhile, Chris Lee Yuchun yesterday attended THE GUILLOTINES press conference in Beijing. Her theme song made its debut. Director Lau Wai Keung was known to speak "the worst Putonghua in the entire team". He had several moments that caused laughter at the event and needed Lee Yuchun to be his translator. Lee Yuchun learned about Huang Xiaoming's injury and stated that she had to visit him even if she was busier because they were great combat buddies in THE GUILLOTINES.

courtesy of on.cc courtesy of mingpao.com
Louis Koo Tin Lok worked on the Pacific Century Cyber Work newly released Smart Living service commercial. Goo Jai and the third generation Canon model Melanie Z. yesterday performed a skit at the press conference to introduce the latest service product.
Koo Tin Lok said that yesterday they rehearsed for fifteen minutes on the spot. The lines were almost five pages long. He said, "During the performance I thought of Lo Hoi Pang, the most important was being able to help with the atmosphere. At first I was worried that the model didn't understand the Chinese lines because the commercial shoot had many out takes. Luckily we passed this time."
Koo Tin Lok also said that he has considered performing on the stage, but taking two months to rehearse was somewhat extravagant for him. He said, "I don't have that much time. (Johnnie) To Kei Fung also suggested for me to perform a play. So far I haven't had a chance. I never did one before. I can learn a lot from performing a play. If I have a chance I would first play a comedy like SHRIMP CRAZY FAMLY, but I won't consider a stand up comedy show."
- [2012.11.23] DOG BITES JACKIE CHAN
courtesy of on.cc courtesy of mingpao.com
Jackie Chan in CZ12 after a scene of stealing a statue in a French castle had to play hide and seek in the garden maze with four Doberman. Big Brother tried his best to shake them but finally still had to use a glider parachute to complete the mission. Big Brother said, "After 100 movies, what opponent haven't I seen? In ROB B HOOD (BO BUI GAI WAT) I was even able to handle a baby, not to mention four Doberman!"
Big Brother and these four "actors" had more than chemistry. When they were not in a scene they would remain by his side as if they were Big Brother's bodyguards. Big Brother pointed out that these bodyguards actually liked to play ball and were truly very lovable. He felt that the most important part of acting with animals was patience. Before the shoot he played with them and had more exchanges. Eye contact was the most important. Finally one of them still bit Big Brother's finger.
The team was rather nervous and immediately gave him tetanus shots, but he screamed that he was afraid of needles the most and made the team laugh. Big Brother pointed out that to be more familiar with his four "actors" he bought a lot of snacks for them. However he only remembered to make arrangement for the shoot and forgot about the remaining scent of the food on his hand. Only then was he bitten.

William Chan Wai Ting and Ella Koon Yun Na two nights ago attended a camera product event. On Chan Wai Ting's birthday he had to work on SPECIAL RESCUE HERO (DUT JUNG GAU WOON YING HUNG). In the film he played a fire fighter. Speaking of Huang Xiaoming's injury from a broken wire, was he worried? Chan Wai Ting said, "You can't do much at the production, I have worked on the wires too."
Chan Wai Ting also said that one day after his birthday he and family had dinner with his girlfriend Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin who did not have to work that day. Did his mother like girlfriend or rush them to wed? He said, "We didn't talk about that, dinner was great." He even said that he did not received a birthday present from his girlfriend because he did not need anything. Instead he thought that he was very happy about spending the birthday at work and making money. Chan Wai Ting even said that his film TRIAD (JAT JIK) after 4 days in release has become a hit, which made him very happy.

- Aaron Kwok praises Lynn Xiong as at all the time
The Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Ka Fai starred new film COLD WAR (HONG JIN) has 12 days in release in Hong Kong has made HK$27 million so far and even 183 million yuan RMB in the Mainland. The film company two nights ago celebrated with a big crab banquet. The lead actors led Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting), Terence Yin (Wan Chi Wai) and Chin Kar Lok in the celebration. Speaking of his girlfriend Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam)'s sexy calendar shoot, Sing Sing praised Lynn as a super model and was pretty in any shoot.
Two nights ago film company boss Bill Kong Chi Keung put in 38,000 for the lucky draw. Ka Fai and Sing Sing also put in 8,000 each. Leung Ka Fai continued to make fun of Sing Sing and girlfriend Lynn's overseas holiday and joked that he has never been the Maldives. Sing Sing only said that he never said he has been to the Maldives. They also contributed to the lucky drawing prizes. Ka Fai said, "We walk the beat! We definitely have several tens of thousands in the pocket!" Sing Sing immediately praised Ka Fai and joked, "Now this is an elder! You see how much he is making!" Sing Sing did not leave until the end and posed for photos with the media and the team. Sing Sing later said that the success of the film required coordination from all aspects. He looked back at LOVE FOR LIFE (JUI OI) that he spent all his effort thinking that he would be able to win an award but finally his dream went empty handed. Thus he felt the box office was especially important. Speaking of COLD's 27 million and was likely to break this year's Hong Kong film record of 31 million, Sing Sing admitted that he was full of confidence in the film. He stated, "If the film reaches 35 million at the box office, I am buying dinner!"
Leung Ka Fai also said that he has not attended a film celebration in ten years. Earlier when he made the Shaw film I LOVE HONG KONG (NGOR OI HK OI SUM MAN SHUI) it also held a celebration, but he revealed that so far he still has not been paid fully and stated that if he went to the celebration he definitely would not have forgotten. "I have been in the Hong Kong film industry for 30 years, I have known and crossed many people and understood each organization's rules of the game." He even joked that all of Hong Kong owed his money because some did not go to the movies, some even made counterfeits. Would he consider working on another Shaw film? He did not directly respond and only said that he would participate in any good Hong Kong film production. As for pursuing the salary, he declined to talk further. "I have a lot of debts to collect." Last week at Chin Kar Lok's wedding banquet Ka Fai reportedly kissed a fashion director. He avoided the subject and only said, "What is so surprising?"
TVB executive Elaine Lok Yi Ling said about Leung Ka Fai's salary, "No way! Is it true? It's been so long, the check has been issued." She said that she would take a look at the contract and joked, "Last time at the banquet I saw him, why didn't he say anything to me?"

Translated by: hktopten - Kate Tsui "Double Shoulder Attack" for TV Queen by Tavia Yeung & Niki Chow
Yesterday TVB announced the official nomination list of TVB Anniversary Awards 2012. At the press conference, most of the attention was centered around the all-citizen public voting system for the three awards Best Actor, Actress and Series. Yesterday Wayne Lai, Moses Chan, Kate Tsui, Tavia Yeung, Niki Chow, Ben Wong, Christine Kuo, Eliza Sam, etc. attended the press con. Lately Kate has been one of the hot favorites for the TV Queen title, but yesterday she was sandwiched between Tavia and Niki's "double slanting shoulders" (referring to their dresses). The TV Queen battle seems fierce. If Charmaine Sheh, Myolie Wu and Michelle Yim were at the event too, Kate most likely would suffer even greater pressure. As for the TV Kings, Moses and Wayne appeared quite relaxed, after all they have already gotten a taste of the TV King title before. Also since Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong and Kevin Cheng weren't around, Wayne and Moses were just chatting cheerfully and joked around. However, the most interesting was Joe Ma, who was surprisingly nominated for Tiger Cubs despite having already left TVB, but Bowie Lam didn't get nominated for When Heaven Burns.
Kate is depending on her role "Chan Ka Bik" from Highs and Lows to compete for the "Best Actress" and "My Favorite TV Female Character" awards. She admitted she was quite surprised and currently feels distracted, but she does have confidence on this role, after all it did get very good response. She will be working hard in promoting and pulling in more votes. When asked if she's relying on the 'one second gang rape' scene to stand out from the other nominees? Kate expressed: "I hope people aren't just watching that one scene, they must watch the whole series. If its because audience feels sympathy or pity for Chan Ka Bik, I don't mind either."
The media teased that Tavia and Niki are using "slanted shoulders" to attack Kate, but Tavia laughed: "We cannot just depend on this to set the standard. My confidence is 50/50 and I'm not going to stress over the awards, but I cannot say I don't have a chance. (It was rumored she was absent from the TVB Anniversary Gala show because she already lost to Kate?) How can it be that predictable, but I was watching the show at home."
Aimee Chan Should Be Nominated For Supporting Role
Moses Chan's girlfriend Aimee Chan made it in on the nominations for Best Actress. However, Moses' partner from that same series, Maggie Cheung, already left TVB and was not part of the nominations. The public calls this into question, it would be more appropriate for Aimee to be nominated for "Best Supporting Actress". Moses expressed: "It is all involuntary for her too, TVB makes all the arrangements, artists are very passive. She wouldn't say that she must be nominated for lead actress. (Heartbroken?) No problem. In the entertainment circle, there will be people that like you and others that won't like you. Just as long as you do your best on your own part." As for the Best Actor nominations, Moses expressed he's just facing it calmly. He expressed Wayne and Damian Lau are the group with talents. As for Wayne, he joked and said he's part of the Idols group. He said: "Raymond Lam has so many fans, but there are different types of TV audience. We all have different selling points. Perhaps Kenneth Ma will have more professionals voting for him. It's a 50/50 surge!
Ben Wong: Just Doing My Best
Last year's Best Supporting Actor winner Ben Wong was not nominated this year for his outstanding role in Highs and Lows. Not only has Netizens been madly criticizing TVB, but even Felix Wong, Bobby Au-Yeung and Evergreen Mak has shown their support for Ben on Weibo. Yesterday Ben helplessly tried to "withstand" his disappointment at the press conference. He frankly expressed he was very shocked when he learned of the news: "You have to ask TVB, I am just doing my best. (Will you think of leaving?) I still have a contract with TVB." Last year's Best Supporting Actress winner Sharon Chan was not nominated either. She said: "I won't cry. Although I am a little disappointed, but I will continue working hard."
Raymond Lam Acting Like a Big Shot?
TVB executive Virgina Lok is part of the panel of judges, she strongly praised Ben Wong, his achievements is obvious to all and she did vote for him. Hopefully he'll make it on the nominations for Best Actor next year. Virgina expressed she will suggest to add a few more nominees to each category next year. It was rumored Raymond was acting like a bit shot and didn't take the large group picture at the anniversary night? Virgina said: "He was at the restroom. When they finished taking the pictures, he even stomped and asked why couldn't they take it again. (Because he's favored?) How could he dare? It's a public voting this time!"
Eliza Sam 3 Nominations
This year Eliza Sam is nominated for "My Favorite TV Female Character", "Best Supporting Actress" and "Most Improved Actress". Compared to last year's "goddess" Christine Kuo, who's only nominated for "Best Supporting Actress", Eliza has much higher chances. Could it be that this year is dominated by "goddesses"? Eliza laughed, "If I get the Most Improved Actress, I'll be satisfied enough. I do have confidence, but I'm not fighting for the award with Christine. It's just coincidentally, we were both nominated."

Translated by: aZnangel @ AsianEU Forum - Rebecca Zhu's Pelvic Bone Shifting, May Affect Fertility
While at the TVB Anniversary Gala 2012's "Goddesses Falls for the Net" performance, all the attention was on Kate Tsui doing the splits in the air, but her teammate Rebecca Zhu injured her waist during rehearsal earlier and had to take several pain killers before she was able to do the actual performance. It turns out she's been tortured by severe pain in the past few days. Yesterday she rushed to get her injury treated with a specialist.
Yesterday at 4pm, Rebecca took her X-rays to Central and had the word "worried" written all over her face. She limped one step at a time to the business building to see the chiropractor. When reporters went forward to comfort her, Rebecca expressed because she made an appointment with the doctor, she must make it to the clinic on time and will accept interviews after.
Rebecca spent half an hour with the doctor and she appeared even more haggard after the visit. She expressed the doctor did physical therapy on her and also diathermy. She said: "The doctor helped me do a bone shift, I was really in pain!" It turns out since she injured her waist, she was holding in the extreme pain all along, but for the performance, she took several pain killers, anti-inflammatory pills and put on several analgesic patches in order to reduce the pain. The other night, the pain was so severe, tears started coming out. After discussing with her family and manager, she decided to get it treated yesterday.
Rebecca said: "Last night, I was in so much pain, I started crying. I went to get X-rays, and the doctor just said a part of my lower back bone is protruding. Actually it's an old injury, but the new injury discovered that one of my legs is longer than the other. Turns out its because my pelvic bone is shifting, so one side is higher than the other." She deeply understands that shifting of the pelvic bone could be serious and if not treated well, her fertility could be affected! She's only 24, so she's very worried. She said: "I'm very worried because I really want to have children in the future, I hope I'll be fine!"

Today Samantha Ko was accompanied by TVB Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) at TVB City for a press conference regarding the recent magazine cover story reporting Samantha Ko had successfully "kicked out" Kate Tsui because TVB's boss Chan Kwok Keung is "romantically interested" in Samantha. It was reported she is now known as the "female boss" to everyone within TVB. Samantha came out to clarify how wronged she felt. She expressed in tears that every artist within TVB takes it one step at a time to get to where they are today, and they don't rely on relationships or anything. She was also grateful for Kate Tsui comforting her.
Samantha expressed she felt very unhappy about the report and denounced the report is not true at all, therefore she must clarify. She did not depend on relationships or connections to get to where she is at today and she does not hope all her hard work and future goes to waste because of these negative news. She is also afraid this would affect how the public thinks of her and her reputation.
She continued and said this is not her first time having false news written about her, such as buying new cars and homes or dating wealthy businessmen. It is all not true. As for the rumor that she and TVB boss Chan Kwok Keung are in a relationship, Samantha said: "I know he is the boss, but I have never been in contact with him before. Also, the report has affected my parents, they are worried. Just by this single fabricated report, we are all unhappy." At one point, Samantha felt so wronged she teared up, and stressed nobody at TVB is calling her "Lo Ban Leung" ("female boss", wife of the boss). She said: "I just feel shocked and wronged. Time after time, there are these fake stories. Actually I don't know how to explain it, I just feel helpless."
Mr. Tsang Sing Ming expressed: "Today TVB is formally taking legal action against that magazine publication and will be sending out a lawyer's letter demanding for their responsibility towards this issue. Also, effect immediately, all reporters from this magazine company are prohibited to enter TVB City and prohibited to interview artists in all TVB-related events until further notice." Mr. Tsang expressed this action is requested by the boss Chan Kwok Keung, "We must protect our artists and safeguard TVB's reputation and rights because it is all false and fabricated. We will not handle these situations like how we did in the past, taking legal action is hoping to discontinue fabricated stories/news. If we do not take action to stop this, these things will just go on and on."

That day I suddenly had this idea, why not I get all the Dragon mothers together and do a calendar photo shoot for charity." She expressed she is very grateful the other 11 dragon mothers were willing to help out. She revealed completing the photo shoot in four days was not easy: "It really challenged our skills to get the babies to stay focus during the photo shoot and to capture their expressions."
Jo also revealed she was truly amazed to see that each mother was in such good physical state. She greatly praised Kelly Chen for successfully regaining her graceful body figure not long after she gave birth. "Her chubby and cute 'Siu Long Bao' (Riley, Kelly's second son) really didn't seem like he came out of Kelly's stomach." As for Miriam, she just recently came back to work, she took the pictures with her son Torres right after he woke up from his nap. Claire Yiu's family of four came to the studio, her eldest daughter (Kyra) is usually a shy girl, but that day she took initiative and posed in front of the camera. Annie's little girl Jamie, rolled her big eyes back and forth and looks just like her mother. Vincent Wong and Yoyo Chen's daughter (Jing Kiu) was sensitive to the camera flashes, but she's naturally born to look like a celebrity.
