- Son Dam Bi’s Last Romance Was Two Years Ago
In an interview for Joong Ang Newspaper, Son Dam Bi confessed that the last time she dated was two years ago. “The relationship didn’t last long and I didn’t have any chance to date someone else,” Son Dam Bi said. Son Dam Bi’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, is known to have a strict dating policy. When the reporter asked if the singer was restricted to be in a relationship, Son Dam Bi answered, “No, the policy was long gone. I don’t usually hang out in places where most celebrities go. Maybe that is why people think I am under restriction. I like hanging around at places like Dongdaemoon Shopping Center or privately with my close friends.” Son Dam Bi continued, “One day I felt really lonely and twitted, ‘I am so lonely.’ A male fan replied to the post quickly, ‘How about me?’ The reply made me happy because I realized that I wasn’t alone. I had my fans around me.”

- miss A’s Suzy and Jia Look Ethereal in “Allure Korea”
miss A’s Suzy and Jia have taken a pictorial for the December issue of the magazine “Allure Korea.” Even though both were very busy with their performances and individual schedules, the shooting went very well and kept laughing having fun with the rest of the staff. When Suzy was asked how she can keep smiling all the time despite the hardships, she answered, “Before, when I was tired, it was hard to keep my face straight. But now I tell myself that I am a professional and try to forget everything and just enjoy the moment.” When the singer was additionally questioned if she had any worries, she replied, “I don’t want to remain as someone who is just cute and youthful. I want to do better, mature, and be recognized but that’s hard to do because I don’t have enough of ‘me’ time. I want to show a perfect performance on stage but with all the other schedules, I don’t have time to practice much.” In turn, when Jia was asked whether she was worried with all the competition rising as the number of girl groups is increasing, she said, “A lot of people ask us who our rival is. Before, I used to say that there were none but now I answer that it’s miss A. Because ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’ was such a hit, many people still remember that as our main song. I want to beat that record and hope to do it through this new album.” Many more pictures of Suzy and Jia can be seen in the December issue of “Allure Korea” or at its website.
- Ji Chang Wook Lost 22 Pounds For His Role in Five Fingers
It’s been revealed that actor Ji Chang Wook lost 10kg (22 pounds) for his character in SBS’s weekend drama “Five Fingers.” His character, In Ha, is competing with his older brother in both piano skills and one girl’s heart and miserably wants to take both from his hyung. In order to better In Ha’s increasingly edgy character, he started losing weight before the filming began. Ji Chang Wook revealed that his weight was 72kg (158 pounds) during his filming for “Warrior Baek Dong Soo.” He lost 9kg (~20 pounds) after being cast for “Five Fingers.” His weight currently wavers between 63-64kg (139-141 pounds). On November 21, a representative from his company stated, “Ji Chang Wook purposely cut down on his food intake and lost weight to portray In Ha’s sharp personality. Due to his weight loss, he was able to better portray In Ha. Please look forward to the rest of the drama series.” “Five Fingers” currently has 2 more episodes left before the drama ends. Park Shi Hoo and Moon Geun Young’s drama “Cheongdamdong Alice” will replace “Five Fingers” starting December 1. Soompiers, do you think losing/gaining weight is necessary for actors to better portray their characters? Not that losing weight is easy, but is that method a “cop out” and would it be necessary if they researched their characters well and acted well too?
- Interview with SISTAR’s Soyu Part 4: “My Heart Races Whenever We Perform Abroad”
SISTAR’s Soyu had a chance to sit down with Star Column for an interview. Click here to read Part 1 of Soyu’s Interview: “I Received My Beauty License in Middle School” Click here to read Part 2 of Soyu’s Interview: “Diet Is Hard… My Diet Revealed!” Click here to read Park 3 of Soyu’s Interview: “My Dream as a Barista” + Achieving Beautiful Skin - The time I lived as SISTAR’s Soyu is more meaningful than my life as Kang Ji Hyun. It’s because I was able to experience so many things in the short 2.5 years as SISTAR’s Soyu that I couldn’t as Kang Ji Hyun. It’s something I’m thankful for and have many people to thank. I’m really happy. And more than anything else, my members Hyorin, Bora and Dasom! We have a lot of memories of sadness and laughter from our debut to now. This is from the time last summer when we went to Hawaii to film for our music video “Loving U.” We were walking when a local resident saw us and was surprised. We saw the shocked face and thought to ourselves, “Could it be that the person recognized us? Can’t be..” when the person came towards us, opened up the bag and took out our album and asked us to sign! We were really surprised. It’s really surprising since it wasn’t near our performance area. We were so happy we thought we could have floated on air. There were more than a few times when I felt proud to promote K-Pop as a SISTAR member. My heart races whenever we go and perform abroad and have our foreign fans give us passionate cheers. I’m really thankful and joyful that my small self can help bring awareness to Korea. Even today, I wake up and attend to my schedules reminding myself that I and SISTAR are representatives of Korea. We will run to our dreams today as well. Even though it’s hard and difficult, we as SISTAR will do our best to go forward. Do you know what Soyu wants to tell everyone? Thank you. Thank you! For Real!!!
