1) 宝马男求婚(báománán qiúhūn, man in BMW proposed) – A 38-year-old man set himself on fire after his ex-girlfriend refused to marry him. The man surnamed Wu from Jiangxi Province drove his BMW all the way to Qingdao, Shandong Province to propose to his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend, who went to college in Jiangxi and went back home to Qingdao after breaking up with Wu. 4) 马拉松冠军贾晓松(málāsōng guànjūn Jiá Chāofēng, Malathon champion Jia Chaofeng) – Jia Chaofeng from Gansu province clocked 2:27:40 to claim top honours in the women's contest of the Beijing Marathon on Sunday. The race was staged in freezing conditions as it was held much later than the normal mid-October date. - `POLICEWOMAN' MODEL NICKED FOR SEXY PHOTOS
A model has been found guilty of uploading sexy photos of herself posing as a police officer, to boost the popularity of her microblog.
The young female model, surnamed Wang, is seen showing off her cleavage and putting on black silk stockings in the photos that went viral in early July.
She claimed on her microblog account that: "I am under great pressure working as a police officer in my hometown. I have to attend dinner parties with government leaders all day long. 'Police Beauty' is simply a nickname."
The model has since deleted the posts.
Fengtai Court in Beijing announced on Monday that Wang has been sentenced to nine months in jail for deception, but due to her good attitude, was put on one year probation.

A young man's parody of the poster for Taiwan director Ang Lee's (李安) latest masterpiece, Life of Pi (少年派的奇幻漂流), is being called a "work of God."
With his pet cat sitting in front of the camera, the young man posed in his living room, with his clothes folded to make a turban on his head.
The image is praised for resembling the original poster, with the big-eyed cat winning the most applause.

"China's No. 1 nude model" Gan Lulu (干露露) vows she and her younger sister will develop their showbiz careers and rival celebrity sisters Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) and Dee Hsu (徐熙娣).
The bold Lulu proudly said on a number of variety TV shows that she has shot more than one movie and TV drama, on top of performing in music videos and modeling at auto shows.
Therefore, she said she is confident that she can help her younger sister Gan Maomao (干毛毛) develop her career in showbiz.
"I won't restrict her development. I'll write songs for her," the 27-year-old professed.
Certainly questions were raised about what real advantages they possess to shine in the competitive industry.
After explaining her position in showbiz and angered by her interviewer, Lulu angrily said: "You can't just die simply because people want you to die. Those who foul-mouth you are idiots!

- Charmaine Sheh Brags TV Queen Nomination is Because She Performed Well Charmaine Sheh became the spokesperson for Eaton Hotels, yesterday she attended the press conference and expressed she will pocket 7 figures for the 3 year contract. She said she and her mother can stay and eat at the hotel as much as they like to.
It was rumored Charmaine signed another contract with TVB in exchange for the TV Queen award. She clarified: "TVB and I still have a per-series contact and no new contract has been discussed. - Candy Chang Involved in Drug Concealment Case, Acting Career is Over Recently the 'smell' of drugs has been strong in the entertainment industry. Following five artists caught using drugs at Suki Tsui's husband (Kenny Wong) restaurant, yesterday morning former MCI Candy Chang and her boyfriend were linked to a drug concealment case. The police found 12 small packages of illegal drugs, suspected to be marijuana, in a van with Candy inside of it and she was arrested on the spot. Although Candy was released on bail yesterday, her acting career is most likely over because of this incident.
In the recent year, TVB has been heavily promoting Miss Chinese International (MCI) such as Christine Kuo, Eliza Sam and Candy, who is known as "Jing Jing" in the popular TVB drama The Hippocratic Crush. Next year, TVB had plans to cast her in the sequel The Hippocratic Crush II (THC2) as the second female lead and have her involve in a love triangle Him Law and Eliza. However, due to this drug concealment case, on one hand TVB pitied her, but on the other hand she basically destroyed her acting career because the reputation of an artist is heavily valued by TVB. Candy hasn't joined the crew of new series Master . Understood yet, but Virgina Lok is certainly going to replace her with someone else. In addition, Candy plays a doctor in new series THC2 and the crew is collaborating with the HK Hospital Authority (HA), so it is very likely Candy will be taken out of the case due to her damaged image. It looks like she is about to suffer serious consequences for her mistake!
Producer (Chan Yiu Chuen) expressed he will wait for TVB to notify him before he considers finding a new person. Asked if he's worried Candy's case may bring negative news to the series overall? He said: "Performance and the individual are two different things. Also, she hasn't started shooting yet. After all, we will just wait for more details before announcing anything!" THC2 producer (Poon Ka Tak) is not in HK, therefore was unable to comment.
After being detained for a whole night! , yesterday Candy was released and left the police station. She reported to Virgina Lok and was immediately summoned to TVB City for a lecture. Last night, Miss Lok expressed she has already talked in detail with Candy for two hours and her father, a senior dubbing actor, accompanied her. Miss Lok said: "I know she's innocent. She was released on bail and the police is investigating now. (What happens to her new series?) Master . Understood, she is getting replaced because filming takes a whole month and in between, she will have to coordinate with the police on their investigation, so she cannot participate in it. (How is Candy feeling?) She used an entire box of tissues. (She met a bad person?) The driver was a friend of Candy's friend. (Pity her?) Innocence is innocence. The police is investigating! Joe Ma was one the guest judges for MCI during Eliza and Candy's year. He said: "Is it confirmed? It's really hard for me to comment. We are all colleagues, of course I hope it's not true. I haven't collaborated with her before, but I saw her at one of the banquets and we chatted before."
Candy's partner in THC, Nathan Ngai, was very shocked when heard the news. He said: "My impression on her is she is very behaved. I r! arely hea! r her talk about going to night clubs. She is a person that goes home every night. (Will you comfort her?) Yes, I will call her and ask her what's going on; if she's okay. Of course, I hope the incident isn't related to her, after all drug use shouldn't be happening at all." Him Law expressed he just got back to HK and is not sure of the issue. Elton John has rocked the house at Beijing's MasterCard Center.Dressed in a blue sequined jacket and blue glasses, the 65-year-old and his band played all of his classics including "Tiny Dancer", "Candle in the Wind" and "Rocket Man".
But it was his popular "Crocodile Rock" that really got people out of their seats.The more than 2-hour performance concluded with the British star returning to the stage for an encore that saw him play "Your Song" followed by a belting rendition of "Circle of Life" from "The Lion King".
Elton John has visited China many times since his first visit in 1984, but it's been eight years since his last tour of the country in 2004.
He played in Shanghai on Friday night and will head to Guangzhou next Thursday, December 6, 2012.

Whether it is quality they crave or status that they seek, Chinese consumers are known to be drawn to Western labels and styles. However, some local Chinese brands are on the fast track to compete with the big names from the West. Here are five Chinese designers who have been gaining international attention.
Uma Wang

Accredited as "China's hottest emerging designer", Uma Wang launched her eponymous label in 2005 in London. Before designing for Chinese labels for a decade, where she honed her sophisticated knitting techniques and defined her own taste for aesthetics, Wang studied at China Textile University and Central Saint Martins.
Uma Wang is celebrated for her ability to balance fashion and functionality. Her designs feature layered minimalism, the mix and match of rich fabrics, and sculptural-shaped strong garments with subtle detailing. Based in Shanghai, Wang has featured her designs in Shanghai, London, Paris, and Milan. She has been profiled by Italian Vogue and Another Magazine and her work is sold everywhere from Moscow to London. Recently, Wang also collaborated with Swatch.
Huishan Zhang

Huishan Zhang left China when he was 17 and has lived in New Zealand, Paris, and London, where he is now based. He was handpicked to spend a year at Dior Couture's Paris Atelier before even graduating from Central Saint Martins. Zhang's designs are inspired by his Eastern heritage and Western influence. His style is feminine, romantic, polished, and often features embroidered Chinese tropes such as pagodas.
Huishan Zhang achieved Armani's star prize of showing in a mainstream fashion city when he debuted in London in September. His show was sponsored by Newgen and Lux Up, a members-only luxury site aimed at the Chinese market. Among other publications, Zhang has been featured in Vogue UK, WWD, and The Business of Fashion.

Liang Zi graduated from the Northwestern College of Texiles in 1990. Just four years later, she established her apparel brand Tangy. Zi is known for her use of gambiered Canton silk, a traditional, hand-dyed material with a 500-year history and eco-friendly credentials. Her glamorous works have caught the eyes of Swedish royals, and her signature runway trick is the use of barefoot models.
Liang Zi has shown at Beijing International Fashion Week since 2001 and was also part of the China Image Festival Fashion Show.
Bao Bao Wan

Granddaughter of Wan Li, who was once the chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Bao Bao Wan lived a prestigious life growing up in Beijing's Presidential Compound. At age 15, Wan's adventurous side took her abroad to study in New York and Paris, where she earned the title as "China's First Socialite". In 2007, Bao Bao Wan Fine Jewelry was launched. Inspired by her oriental roots, Wan describes her own jewelry as "feminine, impossible, and loud".
Bao Bao Wan's designs are stocked by Matches in London. In 2010, her collaboration with EnlightenedTM by Swarovski led to her showcase in Gemvisions 2012, the publication widely regarded in the industry as the ultimate fine jewelry resource. Wan also has been featured in the US and British Vogue.
Basic
A veteran in the Chinese modern fashion scene, Basic has been in China since the mid-90s. It now has various high-end labels including Basic Editions, Basic Anywear and Be Prive, a favorite among local pop stars. All Basic brands originate from one concept – the combination of the long history of Chinese civilization and Western fashion elements. The brand is geared towards foreign market expansion under the leadership of French designer Anne-Valerie Hash.
