Eric Kwok Wai Leung two nights ago held a make up wedding banquet with his wife Grace Ip Pui Man. The venue was decorated with a cherry blossom theme and even had 2 10 foot tall cherry blossom trees in the background, thus many guests waited in line for photos with the ! new coupl! e. When the wedding banquet began, a video of the new couple's wedding proposal last year at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Eric even "censored" their kiss scene.

When the couple arrived, guests applauded and cheered. Then the new couple cut the five layered cake on the stage. Many videos were played during the event, many of which were the side of Eric that few knew about from his youth, including his performance to an Alan Tam Wing Lung song at age 12 and being "Ip Man" possessed with a group of friends as he kicked his friends. A cartoon about a prince defeating a dinosaur to rescue a princess had Grace and Eric's childhood head shots.

The bride's wedding gown and evening wear were all Johanna Ho designs. After the banquet Eric who rarely wore a wedding ring discovered that it vanished. He looked everywhere and could not find it. Yesterday morning he returned to the hotel for a carpet search but still could not find it. Luckily a worker found the ring in one of this suits. Actually when Eric went to the bathroom he removed the ring and put it in his pocket, but later completely forgot about it.

    courtesy of mingpao.com

Johnnie To Kei Fung, Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) two nights ago attended the Fresh Wave 2012 international short film exhibit opening ceremony. Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski's DEEP END was the opening film. Two nights ago the director personally attended and shared his experience with new comers. Wong Chau Sun said that he supported new comers' filmmaking, but he did not have time. Thus To Sir was responsible for cultivating new comers. He said that now he is busy with a play rehearsal, learning his lines has been very tough. Speaking of Show Luo inviting him to watch his concert, he said, "I invite him to watch my play."

Did To Sir tell new comers th! at the film industry was cruel? He said that Chau Sun just said it. Film required passion, basic creative spirit and relied on creative abilities. He said that this time each person received HK$40,000 for production, next year HK$50,000 will be considered. However actually the amount still will not be enough, which was still good as they had to come up with ways to raise financing.

The massive crowd scares Stephy Tang

    courtesy of mingpao.com

Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Sita Chan Hei Yi and director For For yesterday promoted their new film LOVE IN TIME (DUT NGOR OI NEI) on the streets of Mongkok with ice cream. Stephy was late due to traffic and with her recent move her driver was unfamiliar with the route.

Stephy said that she has not been to Mongkok in a long time. When she was little she liked ice cream very much and thought about opening an ice cream shop. Yet after growing up she thought a dessert shop would be better. When has it not happened yet? She said, "I don't know how to handle finances. I am quite a piggy, I give all my money to Mama to manage."! Why did she not ask boyfriend Alex Fong Lik Sun to help? She said that Siu Fong liked art and was only average in business. Has she been swindled before? She said, "It's like lending money but not repaid type, so letting my family manage it is a little better."

Stephy admitted that no romantic film has been released for awhile so she was confident about the new film. He said that lead actor Bosco Wong Chung Chak was very busy, often he did not have time to promote and needed her to take his place. She joked that he would have to treat her to dinner to make up for it, the best would be ten meals. Stephy said that the chemistry with Wong Chung Chak was great this time. Did she feel Wong Chung Chak could get along with any girl? She said that she did not know, she only knew that they got along. She joked that after taking this promotion for him, she truly had to consider next time carefully. If they were able to promote together it would be better.

Carina Lau Ka Ling two nights ago attended a pink bag charity shopping event with Balia Chan and Mandy Lieu. Speaking of her birthday on December 8, Ka Ling revealed that she had to work before her birthday and felt that her birthday was not a big deal. Thus this year she would only rest a little and wait for a big birthday to celebrate. Her husband still had to work on THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) additional shoot. She did not know whether he would have time to celebrate with her. She once mentioned that THE GRANDMASTERS will be released definitely at the end of the year. Her eyes widened as she joked, "I learned it from the movie trailer that it is com! ing soon,! who know it has been soon for how many years! (Would you be upset if Wai Jai would not be able to spend your birthday with you?) No, how old am I? Actually we don't have to go to dinner, but greeting and gift have to be present." She revealed that Wai Jai every year would give a birthday present to her. Often she even had to find it like a treasure hunt, but she thought it was a type of fun as well as it added the mystery of the gift. Speaking of a group of artists using drugs at a restaurant, Ka Ling felt that any artist or public figure first should not do anything harmful to their health or break the law in public places. Otherwise they would have to accept the consequences. Was she worried that this incident would affect the show business image? She felt that anyone with bias would still be biased, but who has not made a mistake? A small mistake is worth giving a chance to. Has she been tempted to use drugs? She joked, "No one has to guts to tempt me. The decision is with yourself too. For years I have experienced the bad, but it is about will power."

Click below to read my thoughts.

    Best Actor
    Kenneth Ma (The Hippocratic Crush)
Roger Kwok (Queens of Diamonds and Hearts)
    Kevin Cheng (Gloves Come Off)
    Raymond Wong (Gloves Come Off)
    Joe Ma (Tiger Cubs)
    Bosco Wong (Witness Insecurity)
Moses Chan (The Last Steep Ascent)
    Raymond Lam (Highs and Lows)
Damian Lau (Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles)
    Wayne Lai (The Confidant)

Thoughts: Why is Raymond Wong nominated for Gloves Come Off when he was more praised for his performance in Bottled Passion?
Snubs: The only big snub I see is that they didn't nominate Michael Miu for either L'Escargot or Highs and Lows.
My pick: My choice would be either Raymond Lam or Kenneth Ma but I see Raymond winning.

    Best Actress
    Charmaine Sheh (When Heaven Burns)
    Niki Chow (Bottled Passion)
Fala Chen (Queens of Diamonds and Hearts)
    Linda Chung (Witness Insecurity)
    Myolie Wu (Ghetto Justice II)
    Liza Wang (Divas in Distress)
Aimee Chan (The Last Steep Ascent)
    Kate Tsui (Highs and Lows)
Tavia Yeung (Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles)
    Michelle Yim (The Confidant)

Thoughts: Aimee for Best Actress? How does she qualify for lead when Kenny Wong was nominated for supporting?
Snubs: They could have easily replaced Aimee with Kristal Tin, Sonjia Kwok for L'Escargot, Maggie Shiu for Masters of Play, or Selena Li for Gloves Come Off. Not saying that I would have wanted any of them to win, but they would have been better choices for nominees.
My pick: My biased pick would be for Myolie Wu in Ghetto Justice II since I thought she did an excellent job but there is no way she is going to win 2 years in a row. The real fight is Kate vs Tavia with Michelle Yim as the dark horse. They changed the voting for this category so that the public decides (umm.. they should vote on favorite character, not "Best" ac! tor/actress), so I think the younger people have a better chance since I can imagine more younger people voting online to support their idols. To me, Tavia is the better actress and she would be my pick to win this year, but Kate had the better role and has the most buzz. I think Kate did a really good job but it wasn't as great as the media puts it out to be. On the other hand, Tavia's character in Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles is pretty annoying to me and it doesn't help that the series is pretty slow. Actually, I would probably vote for Linda but who I would want to win is Tavia. However, I do think Kate has the advantage right now.

    The Last Steep Ascent
    Highs and Lows
    Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles
    The Confidant
Thoughts: The Confidant! The series is not even halfway done and I'm already hooked. It is by far one of the best series this year.

    Best Supporting Actor
    Oscar Leung (L'Escargot)
    Him Law (The Hippocratic Crush)
    Edwin Siu (Daddy Good Deeds)
    Ram Tseung (Witness Insecurity)
    Jazz Lam (Ghetto Justice II)
Koo Ming Wah (Divas in Distress)
Kenny Wong (The Last Steep Ascent)
Vincent Wong (Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles)
    Power Chan (The Confidant)
    Elliot Yue (The Confidant)

Thoughts: Although Jazz Lam was my pick to win the Most Improved last year, I don't think he should be nominated for Best Supporting this year. They should also remove Vincent Wong because I don't think there's anything special about his role so far. T! he could ! have nominated Ron Ng for SSSS but I guess they don't want to label him as a supporting actor even though that's what his role is.
Snubs: So many! Evergreen Mak for Daddy Good Deeds, Pierre Ngo for King Maker, Chris Lai for King Maker, Ben Wong for Highs and Lows, Raymond Cho for The Confidant. In fact, there was heavy buzz for both Pierre and Ben but they were both snubbed even though they were both previously award winners!
My pick: I love Oscar Leung's portrayal but I really want Power Chan to win. His portrayal of the annoying yet lovable eunuch is perfect and he certainly deserves this award. His biggest competition is Koo Ming Wah but that character is the same as that other guy in No Good Either Way! I'm happy he's finally recognized for his efforts but Power has the more complex role.

    Best Supporting Actress
    Mandy Wong (L'Escargot)
    Nancy Wu (Gloves Come Off)
    Rachel Kan (Master of Play)
    Mary Hon (Three Kingdoms RPG)
    Christine Kuo (Ghetto Justice II)
    Florence Kwok (King Maker)
    Eliza Sam (Divas in Distress)
Helena Law (The Last Steep Ascent)
Elena Kong (Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles)
    Aimee Chan (The Confidant)

Thoughts: Christine Kuo was horrible in Ghetto Justice II and Eliza Sam is cute for a newbie but her acting is below average. There are so many more deserving people that could have been nominated.
Snubs: Elaine Yiu for Bottled Passion, Natalie Tong for Gloves Come Off, Rebecca Chan for Bottled Passion, Angela Tong for When Heaven Burns, etc
My pick: Elena Kong or Nancy Wu, but mainly rooting for Elena and I think she might win after being snubbed out of the top 5 last year.

    My Favorite TV Male Character
    Kenneth Ma (The Hippocratic Crush)
Bobby Au Yeung (House of Harmony and Vengeance)
    Bosco Wong (Witness Insecurity)
    Kevin Cheng (Ghetto Justice II)
Moses Chan (The Last Steep Ascent)
    Michael Miu (Highs and Lows)
    Raymond Lam (Highs and Lows)
Damian Lau (Silv! er Spoon,! Sterling Shackles)
    Wayne Lai (The Confidant)
    Raymond Wong (The Confidant)

Thoughts: So the audience decides the "Best" while the executives decides the "Favorite"?! Lame!
My pick: Kenneth Ma! If he doesn't get Best Actor, he should definitely get this award.
    My Favorite TV Female Character
    Charmaine Sheh (When Heaven Burns)
    Niki Chow (Bottled Passion)
    Tavia Yeung (The Hippocratic Crush)
Fala Chen (Queens of Diamonds and Hearts)
    Myolie Wu (Ghetto Justice II)
    Kristal Tin (King Maker)
    Eliza Sam (Divas in Distress)
    Kate Tsui (Highs and Lows)
Tavia Yeung (Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles)
    Michelle Yim (The Confidant)

Thoughts: They really should remove one of Tavia's nominations, preferably for SSSS since it doesn't help her if it dilutes votes, and there are many other people who could have been nominated for this category. This is actually the only category that Eliza should be nominated for since it doesn't really have to do with acting, and her character was well liked.
My pick: If Tavia ends up with Best Actress, then Kate Tsui should get this award since her character was really popular.

    Most Improved Male Artiste
Vincent Wong (Wish and Switch, Tiger Cubs, Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles)
King Kong (Let It Be Love, King Maker, Ghetto Justice II, Jade Solid Gold, Battle of the Senses, TV Funny, Neighborhood Gourmet 2)

Edwin Siu (Daddy Good Deeds, Gloves Come Off, The Last Steep Ascent, The Confidant, TV Funny)
Him Law (L'Escargot, The Hippocratic Crush, Tiger Cubs, Divas in Distress)

Thoughts: I'm surprised that Jason Chan isn't nominated since they seem to be pushing him next year.
My pick: Oscar Leung!!! A total scene stealer in both L'Escargot and Tiger Cubs and stood out the best of all the other nominees.

Most Improved Fe! male Arti! ste
Eliza Sam (Ghetto Justice II, Divas in Distress, The Amur River)
Christine Kuo (Ghetto Justice II, Tiger Cubs)
Mandy Wong (L'Escargot, The Hippocratic Crush, Tiger Cubs, Divas in Distress)
Cilla Kung (Three Kingdoms RPG, Daddy Good Deeds, Witness Insecurity)
Katy Kung (Bottled Passion, Gloves Come Off, No Good Either Way, The Last Steep Ascent, Living Up)

Thoughts: I guess going from no filming to filming something qualifies you for Most Improved? They obviously want to push Eliza up hence her nomination here. Christine was panned in both her roles and those 2 should not have been nominated in this category.
Snubs: Samantha Ko whose character in The Last Steep Ascent was very lovable, Angel Chiang who made a breakthrough as a young Charmaine in When Heaven Burns, Koni Lui, and I really thought JJ Jia was a lock for a nomination! Also, if they're going to put in one newbie, it should be Lin Xia Wei whose acting is better than Eliza and Christine and has already moved up to bigger supporting and 2nd lead roles.
My pick: It would be a travesty if anyone but Mandy Wong won.

RINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) and Taiwan film GF*BF. With six nominations LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE also won Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, but these two favorites were unable to win the Best Feature Film. Instead Mainland film BEIJING BLUES won the prize as well as Best Editing and Best Cinematography. With seven nominations GF*BF only won Best Actress and Audience's Choice Award, much to the surprise of many.

To Kei Fung was absent and Lau Ching Wan accepted the award on his behalf. With three awards, Ah To through the film company revealed, "Thank you boss (Peter) Lam Kin Ngok, the entire LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE team for their patience and effort so I was able to spend three years to make my favorite film; also congratulations to the Milky Way Creative Team, we will continue to work hard for film. Thank you viewers who love movies." Later when Ching Wan accepted the Best Actor, he first embraced host Tsang Bo Yi and accepted the award from presenter Deanie Ip Tak Han. His wife Amy Kwok Oi Ming broke down in the audience. During his speech Ching Wan joked, "Filmmaking is not to win an award. This of course is a joke, I still want to win an award." This was Ching Wan's second Golden Horse nomination but first award. He admitted that he never expected to win the Golden Horse award because he had to be nominated many times for the Hong Kong Film Award. He was able to win to the Golden Horse with his second nomination and he was elated. He also said that he would give this award to his mother and his father in law, as he wished good health for them. Ching Wan continued, "Acting is my job, whether I win an award or not I still have to make movies. Of course I am very happy about winning an award, I always want to work with more good directors and make good movies."

Kwai Lun-Mei immediately cried when she learned that she won. She thanked the event for giving her this honor. She said, "Thank you very much Golden Horse jury. winning this award on the road of learning, ! it is a v! ery important encouragement to me. I really like making movies, and I will keep making them." Finally she even thanked her parents for their support all along and everyone for giving her so much love, all of which she has received.

Ronald Cheng Chung Kei with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) won the Best Supporting Actor. On the stage he repeatedly said he never thought that he would win and thanked director Pang Ho Cheung, Chapman To Man Jat, and the boss for giving him the chance to play this character. He also thanked his parents for their support and his wife for taking care of their daughter well so he was able to work in peace. He also said he was somewhat sorry about winning this award because he only performed for two days. Best Supporting Actress went to Mainland actress Liang Jing for DESIGN OF DEATH. She even gave a special thanks to the director and husband Guan Hu and her children. This time in the film she played ugly and joked that she felt she looked too pretty (in comparison to what the character required), so she added the false teeth.

Best New Director went to TOUCH OF THE LIGHT's Chang Jung-Chi. This film not only was a box office hit but also won awards after awards. It will even represent Taiwan in competition for the Oscar Best Foreign Film nomination, which was already a recognition for this new director. Best New Performer was MYSTERY's Qi Xi. After just one year of marriage her husband was in the audience to support her. She said that she attended just for the experience but was elated to win an award. She wanted to party with the team and was certain that she would not be able to sleep. In addition, Chin Kar Lok with MOTORWAY (CHEH SAU) won Best Action Choreography, on the stage he said that after marriage his lucky has been especially good.

  • Fire fighters save fire fighting William Chan

The film TRIAD (JAT JIK) was released last week and made 2.3 million at the box office. The cast including William Chan Wai Ting, Irene Wan Bik Ha and Michelle Wai (Si Nga) two nights ago attended a celebration. Chan Wai Ting pointed out that he was a little actor, when a film with him in the lead performed this well he was already rather satisfied.

Chan Wai Ting said that right now he is busy with his new film, in which he played a fire fighter. "Earlier I had to appear in full gear and try to enter a very smoky warehouse. I didn't expect to really get nervous, I even forgot how to operate the oxygen tank and needed a real fire fighter to save me. At the time although I didn't have any near death experience, I was really scared." He also said that the explosion scene will be shot later. "I don't have to be heavily insured, but (Nicholas) Tse Ting Fung does. He loves to take risks, I don't have any big production experience. If this film can break 10 million at the box office, I will run on the streets in a bra." Two days ago was Chan Wai Ting's girlfriend Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin turned 30. How would he celebrate? He said, "Maybe we would drink, but actually earlier I already had dinner with my girlfriend to celebrate. I thought about going out and buying a present, but the paparazzi follow too closely."

Wan Bik Ha said that the box office numbers for now were worse than she expected perhaps due to strong competition from recent films like COLD WAR (HONG JIN) and SKYFALL. However, her husband, family and friends went as a group of 60. Her husband said that it was very entertaining. Wan Bik Ha started a film production company and was busy with script preparation. She said, "The film will start production around March or May next year. The financing isn't hard to get. I have met some friends who liked films very much in the Mainland. I don't have to put up money. I just have to put in an effort." Celebrating her 28th birthday, Si Nga said that she had no boyfriend. Her birthday wish was for the co! mpany to put her in new films, finding a boyfriend was in second place.

  • Is Edison Chen getting married soon?
Edison Chen began dating his new love interest, 22-year-old Taiwanese-Korean Angela Meng, in July this year. Angela has just completed her studies abroad and is working in Edison's apparel store, JUICE, in Taipei.

The pair allegedly went on a holiday to the US and were spotted acting intimately on the streets of Hong Kong in September. Edison had previously expressed that Angela was "his true love" and he "was serious this time".

  • Michelle Reis is rumoured to be pregnant with her second child

Dressed in an elegant dark green long dress and four-inch heels, former Hong Kong actress Michelle Reis was spotted with a slightly prominent abdomen at a recent fashion launch event, sparking talk that she's having a baby.
When asked if the 42-year-old is pregnant for the second time, Michelle mentioned, "I am unsure about this. I can't tell you now."

Michelle changed the subject immediately and joked that she has put on weight, and it was her dress "which had made her looked plump".

She commented that her husband does not have any plans to have another child as he has to share Michelle's love with their 21-month-old son, Jayden Max (JM). Michelle also expressed that her father-in-law is already contented having the accompaniment of JM.

The former actress had also dismissed rumours that she received in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment in order to try for a second child.
"I am still young. I prefer to let nature take its course," Michelle added.

  • Mandy Wong Gave Up Relationship, No Distractions Working Towards Stardom

Some people can give up their career for love, while others believe career is more important than love! TVB young FaDan, Mandy Wong, had her boyfriend's support 5 years ago to participate in Miss Hong Kong and entered the industry from there. Due to her new unfixed work schedule, she and her boyfriend eventually had conflicts and after several attempt recoveries, the relationship had to be "certified".

MANDY: "I believe not many people can remember that I entered the industry through Miss Hong Kong. I remember that time, I didn't have much courage, it was my mother who encouraged me to participate in the contest. I didn't feel strongly about it at all and I was afraid my boyfriend wouldn't like it. However, he was actually very supportive, but I still had a lot of mix feelings while I was running for Miss HK. First, I wasn't someone in the limelight, I just focused on my own training. I was so silly to think, "don't let me win" because if I won, then I would have to give up my relationship. I basically didn't know how the entertainment circle is like. Everyone just has their attention on the popular contestants and I was considered the dark horse. Perhaps because that year they had a lot of dance performances and I had a dance background, so I was able to pick up faster than others and gain more confidence. The moment before the winners were announced, I kept telling myself, please don't say my name, but in the end Kayi Cheung won. I think it was well deserved for her because she has very high EQ.

    Starts out Discouraged

After Miss HK ended, I entered the TVB Artistes Training Class, but I started out very discouraged. I saw the three Miss HK winners were dressed so beautiful, doing goodwill activities and gaining experience. It turns out this feeling I had was envy, I really envied them. I started from zero, and I began to think if I had won the title, I could probably get famous faster and my future in this industry will be brighter. Luckily, I quickly adjusted my mentalit! y and soon after, TVB made arrangements for me to join the acting crew and officially start my acting career.

I started working day and night, my schedule wasn't fixed and I had less time to be with my boyfriend. I used to spend the majority of my time with him, but since the filming schedules were unfixed, I couldn't just leave work and go out to play. Slowly, we began having more conflicts and also my family financial issues got worse and worse. Although we tried to rescue the relationship, it eventually didn't work out. I thought to myself, not unless I quit! I felt very contradicting, the relationship was dragging for some time. I knew career and love cannot coexist, so I made a very hard decision, that was to end our 4 year relationship and focus entirely on my career. It is harsh, but I had no other choice!

Would Make Same Decision Even Had to Choose Again

Back to single life, I actually felt like I lost a heavy burden. I could concentrate more on work and didn't have as much to worry about. I didn't have to worry about [my boyfriend] being unhappy because I had a kiss/intimate scene with someone else. There was no longer distractions, I could concentrate more on my character, so even if I had to choose again today, I would have done the same thing, choose career over my relationship without hesitation. I'm not cold-blooded, I just think since I chose to pursue an acting career, I should focus entirely on it. I cannot let other things affect me. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment my work brings me, so I sacrificed my relationship and had absolutely no complaints because a relationship requires engagement by both parties. It is mutual accommodation, and not full of complaints!

In the past few years, I've been very lucky. I was given many good roles where I could really develop on, such as "Aam Chun Mui", "Kwan Yee So" and more recently, "Lai Sui Mui". To the audience, the roles gave off different feelings and seeing everyone discussing about it, whether if ! its compl! iments or criticisms, to me, it is all just opinions. This year I've been flattered as the hot favorite for "Most Improved Actress" award. Awards are important to artists because it gives us certainty, of course I hope to get it!

Thankful of Poon Ka Tak for "Aam Chun Mui" Role

Just in a blink of an eye, it has already been 5 years since I've debuted. Counting it all, I've been in many many series. Although I was never the first lead, many producers still treat me really well and give me a lot of opportunities. Just like producer Poon Ka Tak, he is definitely my "Pak Lok" (person identifying her talents) because he was the one who casted me in Suspects in Love, where I gained audience recognition for "Aam Chun Mui". Then it keeps going, like The Hippocratic Crush and Divas in Distress, I had lots of room to develop in both roles. Aside from work, we still meet to catch up. My relationship with him is like mentor and friends. When I encounter a problem I can't resolve, I ask for his advice."

  • Kenny Wong (Suki Tsui's Husband) Under Investigation, Refuses to Disclose Celebrities Who Used Drugs
A group of celebrities were allegedly caught on video using drugs at the restaurant owned by Suki Tsui's husband Kenny Wong. Kenny was also blackmailed $200,000 to get the video clip back. The incident alarmed the police and are currently following closely with this case. Sources reveal the police has called Kenny Wong in for questioning, but Kenny said: "I have nothing to say and no video clip." He also couldn't produce any evidence/information of the former employee whose trying to blackmail him. The police had already investigated the restaurant and found no CCTV installed in the VIP rooms. Yesterday afternoon, Kenny admitted the police had left their [business] cards with him, so they could be in touch with him. In addition, he explained why he didn't have CCTV installed in the VIP rooms: "The incident (celebrity drug use) happened a few years ago. After the incident, I spoke to the security consultants and they said due to privacy issues, VIP rooms cannot have CCTV installed, so we immediately took them out and only left the ones in the hallway, backdoor and kitchen." It was widely rumored that the media already purchased the 'celebrities drug use' video clip? Kenny expressed he heard about it too: "Yeah, I already discussed with my legal adviser. Since the incident originated from [my restaurant], I'm in for some trouble. I will absolutely not make this public, unless the police requests that I turn in the video."

He said the police has already contacted him, so he cannot say too much. Due to privacy issues, he absolutely cannot reveal the names of the celebrities seen using drugs. Asked if his staff actually saw that the drug users were actually artists? He said: "One employee said, they appeared to be artists, but can't wrongly accuse someone and that's the reason why there is no evidence. At the time, I was not at the restaurant. Maybe they were just taking sober-up pills. If any of our customers are caught using drugs at our restaurant, we will call the police immediately."

Kenny explai! ned because the CCTV screens are located behind the registers near the entrance, anyone who walks by can easily take a USB flash drive and copy the computer memory. The incident happened over the weekend and he didn't find out until two days later, perhaps someone has already copied it. "Usually we erase what was recorded on the videotapes after 7 days, but because of this incident, we haven't erased anything."

  • TVB Plans to End "JSG Awards", Takes Lead in Joining Music Awards into One

TVB's JSG Best Ten Music Presentation started in 1984, with 28 years of history to date, but this will be its final year. TVB intends to give up their annual "JSG Awards" and join the other three radio stations (CRHK, RTHK, Metro) for a single music award presentation. This year's "Most Popular Male and Female Singer" award winners could possibly be the last "JSG" Pop King and Queen ever. CRHK expressed Chik Chak music awards will still go on, but will consider TVB's suggestion. It appears TVB's idea of combining the music awards into one is having difficulty moving forward.

Yesterday reporters contacted TVB non-drama production director, Sandy Yu, to confirm if 2012 is the final year of JSG Awards ? She expressed: "In principle, yes this is the final year of the JSG Awards, but basically the decision hasn't been made yet." Sandy said a joint music awards show had been in discussion for many years, but an agreement had never been reached. This time, TVB takes the lead and the first step to discuss with the other three radio stations. Two meetings had already been held in relation to this proposal. I believe there will still be, at least, ten more rounds of discussion. It's not exactly that we aren't getting anywhere, actually we are making some progress."

Sandy hopes to hold the official joint music awards presentation by 2013. For this year's 2012 JSG awards, there are plans for a 100% public voting system, but for now TVB must prepare for the TVB Awards public voting system first. Sandy expressed the purpose of the joint music awards is in hope to do something for the Hong Kong music industry. The hope is to increase the creditability of the Pop King/Queen awards and gain better recognition from the public. "The Hong Kong Film Awards represents the HK film scene and its not each film production company holds their own award show. There are currently several music award shows; based on the award winners, most of the attention is focused around which record company is favored mo! st by that music award organizer. This kind of situation is silly!"

Since 2009, TVB and HKRIA have been disputing over the music royalty fees. During this period, the singers under the Big 5 record companies could not go on TVB and had absolutely no chance to get the awards. Because of this, the creditability of JSG Awards declined. Sandy denied the plan to end JSG Awards was due to the lack of singers attending their award show. She stressed it is done for the Hong Kong music industry. JSG will continue to promote HK music, but JSG will not have its own award show.

Regarding to TVB's suggestion to combine the four station music award shows into one, RTHK supports the idea, but more discussion is needed; CRHK expressed Chik Chak will go on, but they will consider TVB's suggestion. In principle, CRHK supports TVB's suggestion, but the mechanism of the award show still needs discussion. Metro Radio has not responded.
