Jackie Chan said to have cut support for illegitimate child
The actor is said to have stopped sending money to Elaine Ng after she moved to Hong Kong
"(I) made a mistake all men make", Jackie Chan said back in 1999, when his affair with Miss Asia 1990 Elaine Ng was revealed. Elaine was then pregnant and unmarried, and even after giving birth to Etta Ng in November 1999, Jackie reportedly drew a line between them and continued living his married life with wife Lin Feng-jiao.
Jackie is said to have given Elaine HK$ 350,000 (S$ 56,000) a month for her living expenses and when she relocated to Shanghai in 2002, he reportedly bought her a HK$ 3 million (S$ 480,000) piece of property there.
Elaine is said to have tried to give her daughter the best while single-handedly bringing her up, splurging on extravagant residences and spending RMB400,000 ($ 64,000) on three years' worth of school fees. She is said to have planned for Etta to receive further education in the US, hiring a tutor to prepare her for the change in learning environment.
Elaine brought Etta back to Hong Kong last year, reportedly to find work, but Jackie is said to have been upset with her resurfacing and cut off all support for the mother-daughter pair. Elaine is said to have gone back to hosting programmes in order to raise Etta.
