Cast of "Taichi 0" Walk the Red Carpet at Venice Film Festival

The 69th Venice International Film Festival rose its curtain yesterday, chinesefilms.cn reports.

The cast of the movie "Taichi 0," Stephen Fung, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Eddie Peng and Yuan Xiaochao walked on the red carpet during the opening ceremony. The film will be screened at the festival but received no nominations.

This year's film fest has left Chinese films out in the cold. Eighteen films were nominated for the main competition section including 10 European productions, four American films and four Asian ones. Although Chinese films saw tremendous success at last year's festival, none received any nominations this year.

"Taichi 0" will premiere at the film panorama section tomorrow. The Sino-Canada co-produced 3D disaster movie "Bait" will also be screened.
