"The Expendables 2" Opens in China on Sept. 4

Sylvester Stallone's tough ensemble in "The Expendables 2" will meet mainland audiences on September 4, Chineseflims.cn reports.

The action sequel, which is now dominating the overseas film market, was co-invested by Le Vision Pictures of China and The Universal Pictures of the United States.

Chinese action star Jet Li returned to the movie cast accompanied by a new Chinese member, actress Yu Nan.

According to Universal Studios, the sequel is running in each market well ahead of "The Expendables." It has grossed in US$200 million worldwide in 10 days of screening.

In China, "The Expendables 2" will face off against three other Hollywood blockbusters, including "The Dark Knight Rises," "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "Prometheus."
