The Little Tigers to return next year for concerts
The'90s hit boy band consisting of the trio Alec Su, Nicky Wu and Benny Chen will be making a comeback with a series of concert next year. The group plans to go on tour for three months next summer and will hold 15 concerts in various cities to commemorate their 25th anniversary.
The group was formed in 1988 and was successful in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, performing to sold-out concerts. However, the group took a step back in 1991 when Alec Su was enlisted into the army and reunited two years later with another album. The trio split in 1995 at the height of their popularity.
After the disbandment, the members went separate ways and each took on acting gigs. The band reunited for an appearance last year at CCTV's Spring Festival Gala.
Nicky who enjoyed newfound popularity after last year's hit drama Scarlet Heart, will reportedly receive TWD$ 3.7 mil (approximately S$ 157,000) for each concert. Alec Su will earn TWD$ 3.2 mil (approximately S$ 137,000) while Benny Chen will earn TWD$ 93 thousand (approximately S$ 39,000) for each concert.
The 15 concerts will cost a whopping TWD$ 170 mil (approximately S$ 7 mil). Producers have also planned for a DVD that features their concerts in Taiwan. The producer of the concert also shared that he had approached A-Mei's manager for help as the latter has plenty of experiences in producing a concert.
