Shu Qi Complaints About New Film

After taking a break from working too hard, Shu Qi returned to work for Taiwan director Hou Hsiao-Hsien and star in the 7 year in planning ASSASSIN (NIP YUN LEUNG), which officially began production yesterday. The leads were Shu Qi and Chang Chen. Shu Qi joked that the martial art training and the wire work were too painful, on the first day of work she thought of returning to Taiwan to find Director Hou to “terminate the contract”. She asked her manager and realized that she has not signed any contract.
The film cost over HK$100 million. According to Hou Hsiao-Hsien he ran into financing troubles. Shu Qi said that she wanted to invest. Director Hou praised her “heroine” personality but would not let Shu Qi put money in. At most he would use her salary as investment and share the profit later.
Chang Chen because of THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) kept training. Shu Qi praised his “waist strength” as he could stand very straight. Director Hou also thanked Wong Kar Wai for helping him with advanced actor training. He also hoped that ASSASSIN and THE GRANDMASTERS would follow CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON in recalling everyone’s passion for wu xia film.

Tai-Chi 0 U.S. showing times

New steampunk martial arts film trilogy Tai-Chi 0 will be airing in the U.S. in late October. There’s a free screening at the University of Southern California on the 14th. The show opens on October 19th in San Diego, Monterey Park, Sacramento, City of Industry, Hollywood, Irvine , Chicago, Boston, New York, Portland, Seattle ,Houston, and Philadelphia, and on October 26th in Honolulu. Chen Chusheng for Men's Uno

Huayi Music's Chen Chusheng recently sat down with Men's Uno for a photo shoot and interview. The topic of the week is constellations, Chen Chusheng talked about the qualities he sees in himself that makes him a Leo, such as leadership skills. "In fact, I often have an urge to organize the people around to do one thing or another. During my university days, I liked to organize my classmates to go on camping and hiking trips. Back then I also liked to play soccer, so I formed a school team to played against other school, I was the captain of course."

"Taichi 0" Premiers in Beijing

The cast and crew of "Tai Chi 0″ attended the Asian premier in Beijing.
Director Stephen Fung, screenwriters Cheng Hsiao-tse and Zhang Jialu, action director Sammo Hung and art director Tim Yip, alongside actors Yuan Xiaochao, Tony Leung and Eddie Peng were at the event.
"Taichi 0″ will hit mainland cinemas on September 27 in IMAX 3D format. And its sequel "Taichi 2″ will meet audiences on October 25, also in IMAX 3D format.

Jackie Chan to Attend People's Hundred Flowers Awards

The 31st People's Hundred Flowers Film Awards will unveil winners in eight categories on September 29 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, the Beijing Morning Post reports.
The ceremony will be hosted by Jing Wei from CCTV-6 and veteran television host Matilda Tao from Taiwan. Chinese kung-fu star Jackie Chan and pop star Jay Chow will be present at the event.
According to the organizing committee, Jackie Chan will be the final performing guest at the awards ceremony.

Actor Huang Bo to Host the 49th Golden Horse Awards

Chinese actor Huang Bo will join Taiwanese Mandopop singer Bowie Tsang to host the 49th Golden Horse Awards in November in Taiwan, according to the festival's official website.
Huang, who won the Best Actor Award at the event in 2009 for his performance in Guan Hu's comedy "Cow," was enthusiastically welcomed by the organizing committee to co-host this year's awards ceremony. Huang was invited to be a presenter at the Golden Horse Awards in 2010 and a member of the judging panel in 2011.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 24 in Yilan, Taiwan.

K-pop stars Big Bang sell out three shows in Hong Kong

Korean boy band Big Bang will play to 35,000 fans at three sold-out concerts in December - the biggest audience for an international group since the Hong Kong Stadium stopped holding concerts in 1994.
Tickets for the first two shows by the five K-pop superstars at AsiaWorld-Expo arena were sold out in an hour when public sales opened last week.
An additional show was added and all the tickets were snapped up within three hours yesterday morning. But their sales were eclipsed by solo act Lady Gaga, who played to four sold-out houses at the same venue in May during her Born This Way Ball tour.
Big Bang fans queued up overnight outside Tom Lee music stores, which sold tickets at HK$480 to HK$1,680 - higher than Gaga's priciest tickets of HK$1,580.
"You can see the rise of K-pop. Youngsters love it," music critic Wong Chi-chung said. "Live concerts have become the way out for singers after the digitalisation of music … it's a good thing. Live music influences people and facilitates cultural exchange."
The band will perform in Hong Kong from December 8 to 10. Between May and June, its 13 concerts in Japan were attended by 150,000 people.
Wong said it was rare for foreign artists to mobilise so many fans in Hong Kong since the 40,000-seat Hong Kong Stadium banned concerts in 1994 after noise complaints.

Because this scene was shot separately, Chan Wai Ting and Wan Bik Ha did not see each other. In the film he was able to show off his muscles. "When I got the script I knew how to get bigger. I spent many months to train, mainly ate egg, chicken cutlet and steak on a high protein diet. I kept exercising to maintain my figure. Before taking my mark I did push ups because the result showed up the fastest." However, aside from his firm muscles Chan Wai Ting's dragon tattoo was also very attractive. He had to spend several hours to have it drawn on for every shoot.

Liu Xiang‘s (刘翔) fall at the first hurdle in the London Olympics has been used by a Chinese hospital to promote its cure for premature ejaculation.
The ad features a photo of the athletics star sitting on the track looking upset and pained, with a bold-typed title: “Fall down right at the start! Premature ejaculation, man’s unspeakable pain!”
The hospital did not obtain the 2004 Olympic champion’s approval to use his image.

Cherie Chung's million dollar property exposed

Hong Kong retired actress Cherie Chung who bowed out of showbiz in the early 90s was spotted on Saturday shopping alone and later hastily returning to her new home which is reportedly worth HK$80 mil (approximately S$13 mil). She was seen wearing sunglasses with minimal makeup and a plain grey coat.
The actress is said to be currently residing at Carolina Garden, a popular, expensive and peaceful Hong Kong residential area with sea and mountain views.
The 52-year-old went into depression for a year after her husband's death in 2007. While she has recently showed up at some events, she has denied that she's making a comeback to showbiz.

Aaron Kwok's stallion wins its first race

Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok has spared no effort in expressing his love for girlfriend Lynn Hungâ€¦through, of all things, his horse. The horse lover who bought a stallion last year, dressed it in red for its first race last Sunday to express his love for his girlfriend of six years.
Lynn, however, did not attend the race because she did not want to divert attention from the horse. To show support for her boyfriend, Lynn placed an HK$200 (approximately S$15.80) bet on his stallion and went to a restaurant to watch a live broadcast of the race.
Aaron, who arrived early at the race, exclaimed, "I'm very nervous, I've never been this nervous when I was filming."
After his horse, named Love Call, won the race, the superstar praised it for being "strong like the famous Hong Kong actor Bruce Lee' and that it was like "˜another horse when he first bought it'.
In related news, Lynn revealed that she will be touring Hong Kong with her family during the upcoming Moon Cake Festival period. She would, however, be skipping Aaron's boyfriend concert as the travelling might tire out her parents.

Bernice Liu turns Pizza Face into V-Shape in Hope to Win Moses Chan Back
Bernice Liu had always had a Chinese-looking face, but at a recent event she attended, it was discovered there were drastic changes around her cheek bone.
