The largest IMAX screen in northern China opened yesterday at a new cinema in Tianjin, Mtime.com reports
Directors Wong Jing, Huang Jianxin and Chen Guoxing along with actors Mickey He, Jin Qiaoqiao, Meng Qian and Liu Yuxin attended the opening ceremony of Bona International Cinema, jointly built by Tianjin State Farms Agribusiness Group Company and Bona Film Group.
Wong Jing announced at the event that his upcoming film "The Last Tycoon," which stars Chow Yun-fat and Huang Xiaoming, would be released during the Chinese New Year holiday slot. Moviegoers will be able to watch the film on traditional screens as well as in IMAX format.
Yu Dong, CEO of Bona Film Group, said his company's new film "Tracks in the Snowy Forest" ("Lin Hai Xue Yuan") would likely be screened in IMAX format.
