Zhang Ziyi once again denies sex scandal

Famous Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has again denied her involvement in a sex scandal with a high-ranking official by tweeting an angry message earlier today, the chinanews.com reported.

"This rumor has been circulating for five months and still there are people gossiping about it. At this time, even the most self-restraint and best mannered people cannot afford to tolerate these people who help spread rumors," Zhang wrote furiously, "To those who are still asking me if I was involved, I told you five months ago in a clear-cut manner that I was not. Today I will give you a more straightforward answer: Go home and ask your mom if she was there. If she was, then so was I."

Zhang's publicist released a statement in May to dismiss allegations that she had been paid to have sex with the official and vowed to pursue lawsuits against Hong Kong's infamous gossip tabloid Apple Daily and its sister weekly Next Magazine, owned by Hong Kong entrepreneur Jimmy Lai's Next Media. Her legal team also filed a lawsuit against the source of the rumor in the United States. A hearing will be held on Oct. 5 in California's federal court.

"We read this outrageous report in Hong Kong's Apple Daily. It sent stone-cold chills down our spines and has left us with a feeling of deep sadness," Zhang's team stated in May.

"But this time we don't want to be silent. If we leave these lies to spread, what is completely untrue will be at risk of becoming a half-truth," Zhang's team's statement read, "This time, we are telling those rumor-spinners that we will respond. We will prove our side of the story and we'll seek legal justice. We will find you in the darkest corner and go after you."

"We will seek justice for Zhang Ziyi by taking legal action against Apple Daily and against any other media publishing these false reports."

Hong Kong law firm Hadlanes represents Zhang in local legal affairs. "The plaintiff has been subjected to public odium, hatred, contempt or ridicule," the suit signed by the 33-year-old actress read . But none of the media involved in the lawsuits are prepared to back down and apologize.

Zhang's new film, "Dangerous Liaisons," just debuted in China last Thursday and ironically tells the story of a sex scandal.

Zhang Ziyi Might Be A Hooker, Though Probably Not By Choice, Yeesh

Chinese film actress Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden DragonRush Hour 2Memoirs of a Geisha) is apparently being accused of being a high-priced prostitute for Communist Party officials which despite the most recent of those movies coming out seven years ago, has become a huge story today because here’s a list of things dudes on the Internet can’t get enough of (in order):
1. Cat pictures
2. Dog pictures
3. Porn
4. Asian chicks
5. Redheads
That said, Lainey Gossip has an awesome analysis on the whole scandal that’s well worth the read considering it suggests that if Zhang Ziyi was banging Communist politicians it wasn’t by choice (lovely), and paints a picture of the Hong Kong film industry that makes Hollywood with its pedophile cabals and homosexual Jews who turned John Travolta gay look quaint in comparison. It also should immediately put dollar signs in Dina Lohan‘s eyes because, holy shit, has she been working out of the wrong town. Between Ali and Lindsay she could’ve bought her own palace by now. “And to your left is sacred House of Fiery Hole and Ginger Bags. Legend say, one who look like Russell Brand will do British accent while jerk you off. Not very believable but adds to ambiance.”

Zhang Ziyi Denies Making $110 Million as a... Prostitute?

What to even say about this wild report out of Hong Kong, where the provocateurs at Apple Daily — basically the Daily Mail of the East — have published the scandalous allegations that actress Zhang Ziyi sexually serviced "various rich and powerful figures" in China from 2007 to 2011, starting with a disgraced politician and eventually earning the equivalent of $110 million for her "work."

Wait, what? Needless to say, the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star denies everything, from the report that she was paid roughly $950,000 to sleep with ousted Commerce Minister Bo Xilai in 2007 (a transaction that a source says was repeated at least 10 times over the ensuing years) to the claims by Bo's former associate that he "pimped her out to two other high-level officials as well."

Nevertheless, pending a full investigation, the Chinese government is said to have forbid her travel to the Cannes premiere of her new adaptation of Dangerous Liaisons. (Co-star Cecilia Cheung attended in her place.) Zhang, meanwhile, has thanked her suporters and promised to bring the legal hammer down on Apple Daily, from whom her lawyers demanded a complete retraction and published apology (for starters): "Friends have advised us to release a short statement and not take this seriously. [...] The more you argue, the more you will stir up. It would be better to step aside until people lose interest and the lies disappear.

The innocent will always be innocent. "But this time we don't want to be silent. If we leave these lies to spread, what is completely untrue will be at risk of becoming a half-truth. This time, we are telling those rumor-makers that we will respond. We will prove our side of the story; we'll seek legal justice; we'll find you in the darkest corner and go after you. "We will seek justice for Zhang Ziyi by taking legal action against Apple Daily and against any other media publishing these false reports." Yikes. This will be interesting. Anyway, best of luck, Zhang! John Travolta knows a good lawyer if you need a little extra back-up. [ONTD, China.org.cn]

Zhang Ziyi Denies Reports She Earned Millions As Prostitute For Chinese Officials

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi is slamming reports that she earned millions of dollars as a prostitute for Chinese government officials.
The allegations against the actress, best known for her role in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," originated on a Chinese-language website called Boxun.com, and the story was picked up by the Hong Kong newspaper The Apple Daily.
According to E! News, Boxun alleged that the 33-year-old actress has made more than $100 million in exchange for sleeping with scandal-ridden Chinese politician Bo Xilai, and many other high-ranking government officials over the past 10 years, and is now the subject of an investigation.
The shocking allegations have not been taken lightly by Zhang, who vehemently denies the claims and is threatening legal action.
"The accusations made against award-winning actress Zhang Ziyi are completely false and defamatory,” her rep told Gossip Cop in a statement. "There is no truth in any of the allegations that have come forth which are a result of calculated cruel intentions against a well respected established actress. Legal repercussions are ensuing and these slanderous reports will not be tolerated in any way.”
According to E! News, the actress's lawyer has already sent a letter to The Apple Dailydemanding an apology and full retraction. She also posted the letter on her blog on the Chinese social-media site Weibo, and called the allegations "completely ridiculous."
