Shu Qi chides Stephen Fung for not finding her a handsome husband
The actress lamented about Stephen's choice of co-star for her in the new movie Taichi
Stephen Fung had to find a husband for Shu Qi. And she is not amused by his choice.
Shu Qi stars in new movie Taichi, which Stephen directed. The pair has been romantically linked and Stephen is rumoured to have successfully propose to the actress recently.
At the movie's premiere in Beijing a few days ago, Stephen also revealed that he approached Shu Qi to appear as a guest star in his movie.
He elaborated, "Shu Qi is acting as a mother in the movie. She was forced by her husband and ultimately dies in the end. I'll have to find a husband for her."
Stephen eventually picked Andrew Lau, a Hong Kong director to act as her other half. He explained, "I thought of choosing Andrew because he always mentions Shu Qi as a good-wife material on his micro blog. I didn't expect him to accept the role."
Stephen also blushed and shared that the actress chided him on why 'did he not find a better looking husband for her'. He did not take on the role himself as he felt he isn't old enough for it.
The big budget 3-D movie is said to be the most expensive Chinese kungfu show ever produced. It is estimated to cost HKD$ 220 mil (approximately S$ 40 million) and is reportedly comparable to Hollywood movies.
The movie will be in cinemas from Sept 27.
