According to sources in the Hong Kong media, famous filmmaker Wong Jing plans to shoot four Hong Kong films in an effort to tap the talent of young directors and actors.
The first project is the remake of the gangster film "Young and Dangerous" shot in 1996.
Produced by Wong Jing and Manfred Wong and directed by Lau Wai Keung, "Young and Dangerous" became a big box office earner in 1996, following 5 sequels in the next few years.
Wong Jing and Manfred Wong will cooperate again, but the director has been replaced by a new face, Daniel Yee Heng Chan. Five young actors, Law Chung Him, Oscar Leung, Lam Chi-Sing, Paul Huang and Sammy Sum, will play the lead male roles while Hu Ran snaps up the leading female role.
The film is scheduled to begin shooting in October.
