    The Ah Jat starred VULGARIA after 48 days in release in Hong Kong accumulated over 30 million and firmly sat ahead of this year's Chinese films. Yesterday reportedly Ah Jat won the "Best comedy actor" award at the Fantastic Film Festival in Texas. After 18 years in show business Ah Jat this time made the "breakthrough of zero", with a pretty victory of both fame and fortune.

    Currently working in Malaysia, Ah Jat yesterday responded via text, "I never expected to win an award with a comedy. Last time with ISABELLA I competed for the Berlin Film Festival Best Actor and lost. At the time I was a little disappointed. I never expected a surprise this time. Because it is a comedy, that kind of joy is even harder to describe." Ah Jat even stressed that he would work even harder to make more comedy for the Hong Kong audience. His wife Krystal Tin Yui Nei also had to leave Hong Kong as the couple had no time to be together. No wonder Ah Jat lamented, "Hopefully when we are old, we won't be like this."

    In addition, the Jet Tone artist Sandrine Pinna (Cheung Yung Yung) starred TOUCH OF THE LIGHT will represent Taiwan to compete for an Oscar Best Foreign Film nomination this year. The film last week made almost NT$10 million at the Taiwan cumulative box office.

    Charlie Yeung Choi Nei, George Lam Chi Cheung, Cally Kwong Mei Wan, Janet Ma Si Wai two nights ago attended a Central crystal shop opening. Charlie revealed that her first film as a director, CHRISTMAS ROSE (SING DAN MUI GWAI), already wrapped in June. Right now she is busy with its post production and has already received many film festival invitations. However she felt that she first had to complete post production. She also said that for her first film she has not made a movie in half a year. She did not mind having less income though because she learned a lot from directing this time.

    Andy Lau Tak Wa celebrates his 51st birthday today (September 27). Earlier his fan club celebrated in advance. The stage had the words "Fortune Like The East Sea" in the background. Wa Jai wore a red Chinese suit, his parents also attended and cut the birthday cake with him.     The film DUE WEST OUR SEX JOURNEY (YUT LO HEUNG SAI) after 6 days in release (as of September 25) made 10 million at the box office. Two nights ago a celebration was held. Jeana Ho Pui Yu appeared in a low cut dress, but she was no match for Angelina Zhang (Cheung Woon Nga)'s 7 inch career line.

    Jeana explained, "With so many friends are present, I am afraid that I would be too sexy. Everyone had big buns wouldn't want to eat dinner. Just the right amount is fine." Did her boyfriend Parkman Cheung kept her from being too sexy? Jeana denied, "My boyfriend would understand that I am only sexy for work, and I don't need his permission.     Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo Tin Lok, and Angelica Lee Sinjie recently have been working on the Pang Brothers directed 3D Chinese disaster films INFERNO (TOH CHOOK SUN TIN). The film has been in production for almost two months, as everyone entered the major scene production on location in Thailand. Ching Wan, Goo Jai, Sinjie and Mainland actors Jin Qiaoqiao and Chen Sicheng for days have already been suffering from smoke, fire and water. Goo Jai's right arm has been injured twice, but coincidentally his injuries were right where he had to be injured in the film. In the end he performed injured and did not have to bandage his "fake" wound. Goo! Jai poi nted out that during an escape scene, his right palm was cut on glass shards and immediately bled. The director halted the production and asked the on set doctor to bandage it to prevent infection. However he only asked for ice for the wound and told the director to keep shooting for an even more realistic effect. Finally he completed this injury performance in one take before he was willing to sit down for the doctor to treat his wound.

    During the Mid Autumn Festival, the team will continue to shoot in Thailand. Producer Lam Siu Keung deliberated brought some traditional lanterns and moon cakes from Hong Kong for everyone to celebrate the holiday with. The actors also picked up pens to write greetings to wish everyone a Happy Mid Autumn Festival. Sinjie said that everyone after working together everyday have become like a family, so spending the Mid Autumn Festival together was quite meaningful. she said that Malaysia did not have Mid Autumn festival. She missed playing with lanterns in the country during her childhood. Goo Jai also spent his first Mid Autumn Festival in Thailand and had a very special feeling. Normally he had very little opportunity to complete a movie abroad and celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival with everyone. They were like a family. Ching wan also liked Mid Autumn very much and hoped that everyone would be able to happily spend it with their families.
