Late singer Pan An Bang's wife breaks down during memorial service
A memorial service was held at Taipei Pumen Temple yesterday, for veteran Taiwanese singer Pan An Bang who passed away from kidney cancer at age 52 on February 3.
His wife, who was dressed in shades and an all-black outfit, chose to sit at a corner of the first row in the hall. Madam Wang personally narrated the video which showed photos from the couple's past excursions and the family photos with their son. She broke down in tears when she read the line: "You are our son's and my pride".
Their only child Pan Wei Zhi, 26, sang three songs at the memorial service yesterday, including the late singer's classic hits 'Grandma's Penghu Bay' and 'Go Home'. He also performed 'You Are Still in My Heart', a new song that his father was unable to finish recording before he passed away. Like father like son, Wei Zhi displayed traits of his dad's charisma and was applauded for singing well.
The memorial service was attended by Pan An Bang's 82-year-old mother and Taiwanese singers such as Johnny Yin, Michelle Pan, Yu Tai Yan and Xiu Qin.
