Hugh Jackman has topped a poll to find the star with sexiest facial hair, beating David Beckham and Johnny Depp to the honour.
Hugh Jackman is the star with the sexiest facial hair.
The 44-year-old actor - who most recently sported thick facial hair in the Oscar nominated 'Les Miserables' - has topped a poll to find the celebrity with the most attractive beard beating a host of other famous hunks to the title.
In second place was stubbly Bradley Cooper, David Beckham - who is currently sporting designer stubble - came third, while grey-bearded George Clooney and Ben Affleck, who has full face fuzz, rounded off the top five.
The vote of 1,000 people was conducted by the UK's leading hair transplant centre, the Crown Clinic in Manchester, and surgeon Dr. Asim Shahmalak insists Hugh is a worthy winner.
Dr. Shahmalak - who is a hair loss expert on British TV show 'Embarrassing Bodies' - said: ''Hugh Jackman looks great whatever kind of facial hair he has - stubble, a moustache or a beard ... For many men, growing a beard or designer stubble defines their masculinity. It is not surprising that more than six out of 10 believe they look sexier with some form of facial hair.''
Just as Hugh was named the star with the sexiest facial hair, Brad Pitt was voted the famous hunk with the least attractive beard.
Brad's greying goatee was a turn-off for women, while second-placed Joaquin Phonenix's wild chin bush and third-placed Simon Le Bon's new extravagant handlebar moustache also failed to impress the ladies.

Johnny Depp was nearly ''horrifically mangled'' by a horse while filming 'The Lone Ranger'.
The 49-year-old heartthrob plays Native American warrior Tonto in the new Disney western and had an ''unpleasant'' moment when he fell off his steed, causing him to almost be crushed by the ''death machine'' of an animal.
Speaking on 'The Late Show With David Letterman', Johnny said: ''There was one moment in particular where it got unpleasant. We'd been running [the horses] all day and they weren't really interested in slowing down, at all.
''My horse that I was on decided to jump a couple of these little obstacles. The horse was unaware that the saddle I was wearing to sit on top of it was sort of jerry-rigged, kind of faked.
''When we came down, the saddle slipped and I went to the left and (lost) the reins, somehow I had the wherewithal to grab his mane - all very calm for some reason, I figured fear would kick in, but it didn't.
''I saw in front of my eyes these very muscular horse legs and the striations of muscles moving, this kind of death machine. One word popped into my head - hooves! You know? Hooves. In any case, mind the hooves.''
Johnny could have been seriously injured if it wasn't for the horse jumping over him, avoiding a near-miss with the actor's head.
He added: ''The one thing that saved me was the horse's instinct to lift his front legs and go over me. If not, it was coming straight down into the head.''
Johnny stars in the movie - a remake of the popular 50s based on the Old West - with Armie Hammer who plays the titular Texas Ranger.
- Jacksons say Michael was persuted like Jesus
The Jackson brothers believe Michael Jackson's career was deliberately sabotaged and have compared his life to that of Jesus'.
The Jackson brothers believe Michael Jackson's career was deliberately sabotaged and have compared his life to that of Jesus'.
The Jacksons believe their brother Michael Jackson was persecuted like Jesus.
The group - brothers Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine - think the late King of Pop's life mirrored the Biblical figure's own existence in many ways because of the effect he had on people and the way his life was destroyed.
Asked if Michael was a pop messiah, Jackie said: ''I wouldn't say that. No one's bigger than God or Jesus. But everywhere Michael went, every country, when he left the airport people would line up on the freeway just to get a glimpse of him.''
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, Jermaine added: ''God blessed him because he knew what Michael was going to do with his talent. He was a voice for children who were starving, and he brought the world sing like 'We Are The World', 'Heal The World' and 'Man In The Mirror'. Everything he did was for the betterment of mankind.
''You mentioned Jesus. Look what he did when he walked the earth. He did all those miracles and they still found a way to nail him up on that cross.''
The four brothers went on to allege Dr. Conrad Murray - who is currently serving jail time for involuntary manslaughter for his part in Michael's death from Propofol intoxication in June 2009 - was a stooge of his record company Sony and they believe the label deliberately orchestrated his downfall by planting allegations of child molestation in the media.
The 'Thriller' singer bought a 50 per cent stake in Sony/ATV in 1985 and his siblings have a ''conspiracy theory'' that the label wanted to diminish his popularity and power to wrestle control of the valuable catalogue of songs back from Michael.
Jermaine accusingly said: ''Bottom line? They killed him. The doctor was just a figure in a bigger hand.''
The police searched Michael's home on November 18, 2003 for evidence of child abuse, on the same day his 'Number Ones' compilation album was released, an action the Motown legends believe was a deliberate attempt to sabotage his career.
Jermaine added: ''It was the biggest album he ever could have had, probably bigger than 'Thriller'. And they put this c**p out about him, on the day of its release? That's no coincidence.''

Gemma Arterton had to learn how to be ''bad''.
The actress had to find her inner action hero for her latest role as a crime fighter in new movie 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters' - which follows grown up versions of the classic children's story characters after they escape the gingerbread house - and while co-star Jeremy Renner is well versed in action films, Gemma had to toughen up.
Appearing on British TV show 'Daybreak', she said: ''Jeremy's a professional and has done all of this stuff before, but that was the challenge for me - to really become bad and brave, and learn how to fight, and learn how to do all of my stunts. I had to do a three week intensive fight [course].
''Stunts are usually ... there's an element of you could always really get hurt, but a lot of it is fear. Once you've overcome that, it's really good.''
Following her star-making turn in James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace', the 27-year-old beauty - who is from a working class background in Kent, south east England - has become one of Hollywood's most sought after actresses, something which she still can't believe.
She said: ''I've got bruises all over my arms from the number of times I've pinched myself. It's incredible. It's a dream.''

Ethan Hawke thinks the Oscars are ''destructive''.
The actor-and-screenwriter has previously received two nominations for the biggest awards in the movie business - for Best Supporting Actor in 'Training Day' in 2002, and Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Before Sunset' in 2004 - but he doesn't like the way the Academy Awards force films into being ranked.
He told Gotham magazine: ''People want to turn everything in this country (America) into a competition ... So it's clear who the winner is and who the loser is.
''It's why they like to announce the grosses of movies, because it's a way of saying, 'This one is Number One' It's so asinine.
''If you look at how many forgettable, stupid movies have won Oscars and how many mediocre performers have Oscars above their fireplace. Making a priority of chasing these fake carrots and money and dubious accolades, I think it's really destructive.''
Ethan is not the first actor to express his dissatisfaction with the awards - which take place in Los Angeles this Sunday (24.02.13) - with Joaquin Phoenix memorably saying he thought they were the ''stupidest thing in the world'' last year.
Joaquin - who has also been nominated twice - said: ''I think it's bull***t. I think it's total, utter bull***t, and I don't want to be a part of it. I don't believe in it.
''It's a carrot, but it's the worst-tasting carrot I've ever tasted in my whole life. I don't want this carrot. It's totally subjective. Pitting people against each other. It's the stupidest thing in the whole world.''
- Taylor Swift: Ex-lovers can write songs about me
Taylor Swift has insisted she is OK with her musician ex-boyfriends, including Harry Styles and John Mayer, writing songs about her because she has penned so many tracks about her love life.
Taylor Swift has insisted she is OK with her musician ex-boyfriends, including Harry Styles and John Mayer, writing songs about her because she has penned so many tracks about her love life.
Taylor Swift thinks it's ''fair game'' for her ex-boyfriends to write songs about her.
The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer - who has dated a string of stars including One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal - is well known for pouring her heartbreak into the lyrics of her songs, and insists it's OK for her former lovers to do the same.
In an interview with the latest UK issue of InStyle magazine, she said: ''If I'm gonna write songs about my exes they can write songs about me. That's how it works. I'm not gonna complain about it
''I'm not gonna sit there and say, 'I'm the only one who can write songs about this relationship.' It's fair game.''
The 23-year-old country star's latest chart-topping album, 'Red', is largely thought to feature songs about 'Jarhead' actor Jake, 32, while 'I knew You Were Trouble' is about her first split from Harry.
Taylor performed the track at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday night (20.02.13) as Harry, 19, looked on in the audience.
She avoided seeing him backstage and organisers did their best to keep them apart throughout the night.
A source said: ''Taylor and her people passed Harry backstage and a security guard barked, 'Look left!' so there was no eye contact.''
Harry, however, complimented his former girlfriend's show-stopping performance at the BRITs, where she ripped off a conservative white wedding dress and gyrated on stage in a sexy black and lace outfit.
He said: ''I thought her performance was really good, she looked great.''

Katie Price has taken up competitive show jumping.
The 34-year-old former glamour model admits she was nervous about entering the competition but is proud of her achievements and enjoyed the experience a lot.
She said: ''I competed in my first horse jumping show last weekend. Me and my beautiful 17-year-old beast, Otto, competed a clear round - even if I did hold my breath the whole time.
''People say the horse world is snobby but the show jumping set couldn't have been more welcoming to me.
''I've found another aspect of the sport that I absolutely love and so does Otto. The hardest thing is trying to hold him back because he wants to jump fences before me.
''We didn't do bad for an old boy and girl.''
Katie - who has children Harvey, 10, Junior, seven, and five-year-old Princess Tiaamii from previous relationships - has loved horses since she was a child and was proud of how hard she worked to own her first equine when she was in her early 20s.
She added in her column for The Sun newspaper: ''I grew up loving horses but my mum couldn't afford one in a million years. So I would go to the local stables every weekend and muck out just to get a ride.
''Eventually I took a Saturday job and began to save up for my very own horse. I couldn't afford one until I was in my early 20s, when my modelling career was taking off.
''He was an Irish thoroughbred called Tyke and I'll never forget how good it felt to ride him, knowing how hard I'd worked to buy him and call him my own.''
- Mark Wahlberg found jail 'sobering'
Mark Wahlberg has revealed being charged with assault as a troubled teen changed his perspective on life and he turned to his local priest to help get his life back on track.
Mark Wahlberg has revealed being charged with assault as a troubled teen changed his perspective on life and he turned to his local priest to help get his life back on track.
Mark Wahlberg says being jailed aged 17 was a ''sobering'' moment.
The 'Ted' star realised he needed to turn his life around as a troubled teen growing up in Boston when he was sentenced to two years in prison for assault and attempted murder after beating a stranger, but says the practicality of actually making a change was a daily struggle.
Speaking on British TV show 'Daybreak', Mark confessed: ''There were moments where I knew I needed to get on the right course. Very sobering moments. As a 17-year-old adolescent going to jail, that's a very sobering moment.
''I had a very specific moment where I knew I needed to change my life, but when you decide to change your life then actually doing it, that becomes a very challenging and uphill battle that you need to take on a day-to-day basis.''
Mark - who was addicted to cocaine by age 13 - immersed himself in his local youth group, the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club and says the support of its programme leader Mike Joyce was the only thing that helped him get back on track.
He added: ''Thankfully the people that I did look to as being role models were still there. The guy Mike Joyce who runs the Boys Club, he was our parish priest, those were the heroes I should have looked to. Unfortunately, I was looking to the wrong people for so long for inspiration.''
As a result of his tough upbringing, the 'Broken City' actor and his wife Rhea Durham like to spoil their four young children because he wants them to have everything he never had.
Quizzed about becoming a father, he replied: ''It's the greatest accomplishment of my life, I have the greatest wife and the most amazing children. But it's also the most demanding role I'll ever play and between that and work I've been very blessed.
''I like to give them all the things I didn't have and I like to make them appreciate that a lot of people are less fortunate.''
