Andy Lau visits wife Carol Chu’s family in Malaysia
The Hong Kong artiste visited his wife's family in Malaysia on the second last day of the Lunar New Year
Andy Lau reportedly made a trip to his wife Carol Chu's home in Malaysia with his family on the second last day of the Lunar New Year.
According to the Hong Kong media, the Hong Kong star attended a celebration event for Better Malaysia Foundation, a personal foundation started by Malaysian business tycoon Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, yesterday. The two got acquainted with each other through Andy's wife and became good friends.
When asked if he had dropped by his parents-in-law's place together with Carol and their daughter since they were in Malaysia, Andy smiled and nodded his head. He then attempted to direct the media's attention back to event by saying, "I'm here to attend this event."
At the event, Vincent's mother who was seated beside Andy asked him out of curiosity, "You have a daughter, does she resemble you?" Andy once again smiled and nodded his head in response to the question.
Vincent generously donated RM 20 million (approximately S$ 8 million) to 74 charity organisations on that day.
Andy took the opportunity to introduce his own foundation, the Andy Lau Charity Foundation, when he gave his speech on stage and said, "Do you know that I have my own foundation in Hong Kong too? This year I missed the chance to submit the application for donation funds, next year I will definitely come back."
He then personally handed the application form to Vincent and hoped that Better Malaysia Foundation would donate some funds to Andy Lau Charity Foundation in the future.
