[2013.02.21] SIMON YAM OVERTAKES NICK CHEUNG IN DIRECTING DEBUT

With over 36 years in the film industry, Simon Yam Tat Wa years ago missed co-directing BOARDING GATE with Maggie Cheung Man Yuk's former husband Olivier Assayas because he was working on a Johnnie To Kei Fung film. However he recently has been rumored to work with Fruit Chan Gor and Lawrence Ah Mon (Lau Kwok Cheung) on a a ghost film. They each would be responsible for a 30 minute story like THREE (SAM GAN). Reportedly Brother Wa will be responsible for the part that was partially adapted from novelist Lillian Lee Bik Wa's script. The "virgin" inevitably was nervous. Just returning from work in Korea he has been busy with meetings with the team to prepare for the shoot.

Coincidentally, earlier Nick Cheung Ka Fai admitted that later he will direct a ghost film. In support of local production, he was even willing to reduce his salary. However the project will not have further news until the middle of the next month at the soonest. Brother Wa successfully cut the line as his film is tentatively scheduled to start on the 28th. No casting decision has been made yet.

Brother Wa was asked about the story! . "I really can't talk about it yet. (Who will be the lead actress?) It may not have one. The Emperor Motion Picture IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN) starred Best Actors and Best Actress Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Anita Yuen Wing Yi respectively, as well as Gillian Chung Yun Tung and Jordan Chan Siu Chun. Joey Meng declines TVB offer

"Inbound Troubles" actress, Joey Meng has decided not to sign a management contract with TVB - expressing her comfortable situation of working flexibly with the company.

As reported on Popular Asians website, a source close to the actress, who signed a three-year per-serial contract with TVB in 2012, revealed, "Joey is very loyal. Although it has an attractive remuneration package and would also guarantee her a lot of freedom, Joey thinks it would not be fair for everyone."

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei won the Best Actress award at the 2013 Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival with THE BOUNTY (YUEN HUNG) in Australia. She was very excited and gave a special thank to director Fung Chi Chiang and Chapman To Man Jat. Fiona said, "I will always remember how good they both are!" She also thanked her company and Paco.

Directors of the films in competition were limited to have made 3 movies or less in order to encourage new directors and their work. THE BOUNTY was Fung Chi Chiang's debut as a director.

Becoming a ten million box office female star, DaDa Chan Jing with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET)'s Popping Candy received a Hong Kong Film Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She followed up and continued to occupy the "vulgar" market as she performed in the Hong Kong film HARDCORE COMEDY (CHUNG HAU MEI). Two nights ago DaDa appeared in Lan Kwai Fong and gave the neighbors and the tourists on the drinking street free additional entertainment, she seriously was hardcore.

Two nights ago, William Chan Wai Ting who just returned to Hong Kong from a holiday with girlfriend Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin jumped right into the production and played a driver who gave a ride to DaDa. They passed Lan Kwai Fong when they ran into her boyfriend Wilson Chin Kwok Wai with another woman Jackie X (Tsui Kai Kei). She ran out of the car in a rage and performed a fight over her guy on the street. DaDa was flailing her limbs and looked very convincing. Because they shot on a busy street, many neighbors and drinkers stopped and watched; later DaDa realized that everyone's focus was on her chest and she could only awkwardly cover up with her handbag.

Almost becoming the Hong Kong film guest star king, Chin Kwok Wai revealed that he was only guest starring in one scene as DaDa's sugar daddy. When the two women met they fought. He jokingly asked the director why not add bed scenes with DaDa, but he was just joking.
[2013.02.20] ANTHONY WONG AND ERIC TSANG FIGHT FOR 6 HOURS

The Emperor Motion Picture IP MAN THE FINAL FIGHT (IP MAN JUNG GIK YUT JIN) starred Best Actors and Best Actress Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Anita Yuen Wing Yi respectively, as well as Gillian Chung Yun Tung and Jordan Chan Siu Chun. In one of the major scenes Chau Sun and Chi Wai fought in the "duel of the century". Chau Sun's arms seemed to have been "steel clad" as he fought for 6 hours with Chi Wai. They both said it was a lot of fun.

Before the shoot, Chau Sun and Chi Wai spent two hours on the action design with the action director. They repeatedly practiced for three hours in order to complete the shoot in one take. Chau Sun with Wing Chun fought the White Crane style leader Chi Wai. They both were almost hit, when the shoot c! ompleted the entire set applauded and cheered. Chau Sun said that during rehearsal he wore protective gloves but in the actual performance he was bare handed. He never thought that the soon to be 60 year old Chi Wai still fought very well. His arms were also all bruised from the fight. Chi Wai pointed out that Chau Sun did not hold back and treated him like the human wooden stump. He was almost in the air from getting hit.
