Simon Yam will act, photograph and direct Nick Cheung will not know more about his directing debut until the middle of next month
courtesy of on.cc
With over 36 years in the film industry, Simon Yam Tat Wa years ago missed co-directing BOARDING GATE with Maggie Cheung Man Yuk's former husband Olivier Assayas because he was working on a Johnnie To Kei Fung film. However he recently has been rumored to work with Fruit Chan Gor and Lawrence Ah Mon (Lau Kwok Cheung) on a a ghost film. They each would be responsible for a 30 minute story like THREE (SAM GAN). Reportedly Brother Wa will be responsible for the part that was partially adapted from novelist Lillian Lee Bik Wa's script. The "virgin" inevitably was nervous. Just returning from work in Korea he has been busy with meetings with the team to prepare for the shoot.
Coincidentally, earlier Nick Cheung Ka Fai admitted that later he will direct a ghost film. In support of local production, he was even willing to reduce his salary. However the project will not have further news until the middle of the next month at the soonest. Brother Wa successfully cut the line as his film is tentatively scheduled to start on the 28th. No casting decision has been made yet.
Brother Wa was asked about the story! . "I really can't talk about it yet. (Who will be the lead actress?) It may not have one. With elementary school graduation work like mine, if I make myself look bad it's not important. There is no point to mess with pretty girls. (Will you reduce salary in support of local production?) No, I will act, director and be the third photographer, I am no different from a chore boy. Of course I have to get more of a raise." Wa Jai stated that this was the first time he was willing to be a "chore boy" mainly because the ghost film subject was attractive. He also hoped to promote the Hong Kong emotion after ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU). - [2013.02.21] CHEUK WAN CHI TURNS MOVIE INTO CHRISSIE CHAU'S HUNTING GROUND
courtesy of mingpao.com
Cheuk Wan Chi yesterday attended the Independent Film and Visual media in Asia press conference. She will serve a the independent short film competition youth division judge. Speaking of her upcoming new film BAU SAM CHIU GIU WA (BLAST THREE ANGELS), Cheuk Wan Chi said, "Chrissie Chau Sau Na in the film played a kung fu girl. I would like her to be a little more muscular because she is too thin now. I don't know if it's due to heartache. We are both girls, when I saw her my heart aches too." Would she introduce any "hot property" to Chau Sau Na? Cheuk Wan Chi joked, "The film industry has many hot property. This time the production team has many. She can find her own."
Directing an action film for the first time, Cheuk Wan Chi wrote a silly character for her. "I would ask pseudo models and DJs to perform. Because of the numerous pseudo models, half a hour of the meeting was spent on identifying them." - [2013.02.21] STEPHEN CHOW'S JOURNEY TO THE WEST HEADS FOR 1 BILLION

courtesy of mingpao.com
Wong Cho Nam with Ronald Cheng Chung Kei, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and others starred in the new film PRINCESS AND SEVEN KUNG FU MASTERS (SIU GUNG CHUN MO LUM). Cho Nam in the film turns into a little tailor with kung fu. However in reality he does not know kung fu, thus during the shoot he often has bad takes. "In the film (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo, Yuen Wah and others are all kung fu masters, even (Eric) Tsang Chi Wai was once the stuntman association chair. So I often have bad takes with my co-stars!" Rose Chan Ka Wun in the film has to don a male disguise. At the time she is injured and received treatment from Cheng Chung Kei and Yuen ! Wah to save her. They even touch her near her chest. Chan Ka Wun jokes that during the shoot they keep trying to make her laugh, in front of the camera she has to hold back her laughter and pretend to be hurt. - [2013.02.21] JOYCE CHENG MAKES DESSERT IN MEMORY OF HER MOTHER

Joyce Cheng Yun Yi earlier promoted her Lunar New Year film I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) with Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Michael Tse Tin and Jerry Koo Ming Wa in Malaysia. She visited many cinemas with the team and at each one tried the traditional Lunar New Year good luck food "Lo Sang" to wish for stardom and riches in the new year; she even demonstrated her wonton eating skills and had viewers laughing until their bellies hurt.
Two days ago was the 5th anniversary of Fei Jeh Lydia Shum Din Ha's passing. Yun Yi actually created in secret "Fei Jeh cookie" at home. At night she met Fei Jeh's friends for dinner and gave them the dessert. Everyone praised how thoughtful she was. - Bobby Au-Yeung grateful for surviving near-death accident

The Hong Kong veteran actor expressed his gratitude to his wife and friends who had helped him survive this ordeal
Bobby Au-Yeung is on the mend after he collapsed due to Pneumonia during a dinner gathering on Chinese New Year last week. He reportedly slipped into a coma and only regained consciousness after 12 hours of rescue. He was admitted to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for five days and currently recuperating in the general medical ward.
During a phone interview in Hong Kong yesterday, the bubbly veteran actor said he had no recollection of the incident, but learnt from his wife, Rosanna Fu that he was resting alone during the party. Rosanna immediately called the ambulance after celebrity friend, Michael Tao noticed his face turned pale and saw Bobby go into convulsions.
The 52-year-old shared, "The doctor told me I had strong willpower. I'm so glad to be alive. I am really grateful to Benjamin [Hong Kong TVB actor] who knew first aid and helped to clear my throat. I also have to thank Rosanna for spending so much time to take care of me in hospital."€
According to Bobby, he would be discharged from the hospital after undergoing another round of blood test and lung examination.
On the other hand, rumour has it that Bobby collapsed due to excessive irregular alcohol consumption. An insider commented the former TVB actor was "on an extreme high after he drank whisky, red wine and champagne respectively". He allegedly rested on the sofa due to "an intense pain in his heart".
Bobby denied these claims, explaining, "I had flu but still drank alcohol that day. Maybe that's why I collapse."
Source: Xinmsn Entertainment - 2.17 Sunnia Liu Vomits After Boat Ride The Miss Chinese International contestants visited and filmed around Lantau Island around Tai O and Po Lim Monastery on this day. The girls toured side streets, tasted street snacks, and went on a sightseeing boat tour. Being the pageant's host country representative, Carat Cheung was widely recognized and welcomed by the public. Sunnia Liu suffered from seasick, causing her to vomit on the spot. Afterwards, the contestants prayed for blessings at the Tian Tan Buddha, which attracted a large number of tourists to crowd the area.
Carat Cheung Becomes Favorite Contestant
The public cheered for Carat Cheung (Hong Kong) throughout the event, and someone even shouted, "Hong Kong representative is the prettiest." Carat will work hard to bring glory for Hong Kong. In terms of preparation, she will take time to rest and practice her talent performance for the final, hoping to bring surprise for the audience. She will not pressure herself too much to give her best performance.
Sunnia Liu (Sydney) vomited after the boat ride. She later explained that she hasn't been feeling well due to the weather changes and rehearsal schedule lately. This, however, would not affect her performance, as there is still time before the final, giving her enough time to rest. She said, "I believe that preparing well for the final would bring me confidence. (Who are you confident in?) We are excellent in our own ways."
Cynthia Qiu Calls Boyfriend "Husband"?
Rumors say that former Miss Asia contestant, Cynthia Qiu (Foshan) received plastic surgery to compete in this pageant. In addition, Cynthia and CCTV director boyfriend, 嚴雪松, calls each other husband and wife on Sina Weibo. She explained, "I saw that coming, but my friends do not see a difference. Perhaps, I just look different on screen. Thanks to the media for taking such gorgeous photos of me. I saved and forwarded a lot of newspapers to my mom. She told me not to bother about it, and I should be happy to have the media concerns. (Did you receive plastic surgery?) No, my facial features are normal. (Is CCTV's director your boyfriend?) Yes, he is my boyfriend. (You call each other husband and wife?) We are not married, and we normally do not call each other that way. I happened to force him to say it on Valentine's Day."
Jacky Choi Will Be More Cautious With Her Words
Allegedly, Jacky Choi (Melbourne) likes to go clubbing and speaks profanity. She revealed, "That was at a friend's birthday party. I rarely go clubbing and do not play wild. Perhaps, I drank a bit that night. (Are you currently in a relationship?) That photo was taken from skit. I thought it would be fun, so I uploaded it online. He is not my boyfriend, and I am currently single. Also, I am not worried about the media publishing more photos of me. (Why did you speak profanity on Weibo?) Perhaps, I was trying to express my happiness. That was before I earned my Miss Chinese Melbourne title. I will be more careful with choosing my words in the future."

PHOTO ALBUM
- Spotted: Isabella Leong and her twin sons
Yesterday, a photo of former Hong Kong actress Isabella Leong and her twin sons was uploaded onto Weibo (Chinese microblogging website) by a user who claimed to have recently spotted them at Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
The picture shows the back view of a tall lady, who is believed to be Isabella, with a pair of twins. The trio were dressed warmly for the winter weather and according to the user, the boys wore identical clothes and had similar hairstyles, while Isabella's eldest son Ethan was not seen during the shopping trip.
After the photo circulated online, a netizen commented that she saw Isabella and her sons at a local hospital last week and did not approach the former actress for a photo as they were accompanied by a bearded man.
She wrote: "I regretted not taking a picture of her back view. It's not strange to meet her [Isabella] but it was a rare opportunity to see her twins."
Following her split with Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li in 2011, the actress withdrew from the limelight and relocated to Canada where she takes care of her three sons. - Fiona Sit wins Australia Jin Kaola Best Actress

Becoming a ten million box office female star, DaDa Chan Jing with VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET)'s Popping Candy received a Hong Kong Film Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She followed up and continued to occupy the "vulgar" market as she performed in the Hong Kong film HARDCORE COMEDY (CHUNG HAU MEI). Two nights ago DaDa appeared in Lan Kwai Fong and gave the neighbors and the tourists on the drinking street free additional entertainment, she seriously was hardcore.
Two nights ago, William Chan Wai Ting who just returned to Hong Kong from a holiday with girlfriend Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin jumped right into the production and played a driver who gave a ride to DaDa. They passed Lan Kwai Fong when they ran into her boyfriend Wilson Chin Kwok Wai with another woman Jackie X (Tsui Kai Kei). She ran out of the car in a rage and performed a fight over her guy on the street. DaDa was flailing her limbs and looked very convincing. Because they shot on a busy street, many neighbors and drinkers stopped and watched; later DaDa realized that everyone's focus was on her chest and she could only awkwardly cover up with her handbag.
Almost becoming the Hong Kong film guest star king, Chin Kwok Wai revealed that he was only guest starring in one scene as DaDa's sugar daddy. When the two women met they fought. He jokingly asked the director why not add bed scenes with DaDa, but he was just joking.

Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, and Samantha Ko Hoi Ning two nights ago attended the Lunar New Year film I LOVE HONG KONG 2013 (2013 NGOR OI HK GUNG HEI FAT CHOI) New Spring Group Visit. Chi Wai who just returned from the U.S. said that although the box office broke HK$15 million it was no match for previous years, but he was not disappointed. The most important was good word of mouth. He pointed out that every movie had similar amount of viewers, the cause of death was this year more movies divided up the cake. Its box office could not rival JOURNEY TO THE WEST CONQUERING THE DEMONS (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN( was because its 3D ticket prices were more expensive. As for defeating competition Raymond Wong Pak Ming's HOTEL DELUXE (BAK SING JAU DIM), he said, "As long as we were able to sell we were fine, as long as everyone was happy!"
He explained that Veronica Yip Yuk Hing's comeback could not help but to have too little screen time, because the role in the script was that much. In addition now he would not force her to play the character in her youth. He even added a Bollywood dance for Hing Hing to perform. He revealed that after the group visit he would wait for Hing Hing to call from the U.S. and reply whether she would be able to return to Hong Kong for a series. Yet the key ultimately would be whether Hing Hing would be able to convince her husband.

Translated by: hktopten - Joey Meng declines TVB offer "Inbound Troubles" actress, Joey Meng has decided not to sign a management contract with TVB - expressing her comfortable situation of working flexibly with the company.
As reported on Popular Asians website, a source close to the actress, who signed a three-year per-serial contract with TVB in 2012, revealed, "Joey is very loyal. Although it has an attractive remuneration package and would also guarantee her a lot of freedom, Joey thinks it would not be fair for everyone."
"If she signs the contract, she would always have to turn down offers, and that would not be very fair for the company. She also feels very safe and satisfied with her current manager. TVB has been treating her well, which is why she immediately agreed to film "Food for the Slaves" and has already saved room in her schedule to film the future "Inbound Troubles" sequels," the source clarified.
It was earlier reported that TVB executive, Virginia Lok has offered to sign Joey and her manager for a hefty sum of HKD50,000 per episode, the right to choose her film and television offers, and would be promoted as TVB's "next Charmaine Sheh".
However, the actress has decided to decline the offer in order to keep her current work relationship with her manager, who has been with Joey since she first started her career in ATV, and her freedom to choose her job with other television stations.
It was also rumoured that Joey had to push back her baby plans with husband, Chan Sap Sam due to her per-serial contract with TVB. If Joey agreed to join TVB's management, her baby plans would be further postponed a few more years.
