The epic film "White Deer Plain" became the biggest winner in the 8th Chinese American Film Festival, which opened on October 26, xinhuant.com reports.
Wang Quanan, director of "White Deer Plain" won Best Director award, while the leading actress in the film Zhang Yuqi took home the Best Actress award.
"White Deer Plain" also snapped up Best Film award.
"White Deer Plain," adapted from Chen Zhongshi's novel of the same name, received mixed reviews when was released in China since September 15. But in the end it bagged 140 million yuan (22.4 million US dollars) in ticket stubs.
