Story
Tai Chi Hero is the second of three movies and starts off with Yang and Yuniang getting married so Yang becomes a member of the clan and can learn their Tai Chi. On day one of the marriage Yuniang lays down the law, she is his master not wife, he must sleep on the floor and can't touch her. Yuniang's brother, a genius inventor, returns home with a wife and a hidden agenda to replace Master Chen as the village's leader. His plan is discovered and he flees the village in shame. At the same time the village's arch enemy Zijing has found new allies and returns to the village with a bunch of new modern weapons to cause havoc.
When all is lost Master Chen comes up with a plan to save the newly wedded couple and the rest of the village from death. His plan though may have a very high price.
Editor's Review of Tai Chi Hero – Score 7/10
Tai Chi Hero does further develop the story introduced in the first movie but the main emphasis of this movie is tai chi. The teaching of tai chi, the practice and philosophy of tai chi and tai chi fight scenes. There is not much in the way of acting but you expect that and the flowing fight scenes directed by the legendary Sammo Hung are great to watch and more than make up for the light story and minimal acting.
