  • Gigi Wong: TVB Highly Disrespects "Green Leaf" Veteran Artists
Yesterday Gigi Wong was on a radio interview and groaned, "TVB is extremely disrespectful to the older artists (veterans). No matter how great their acting is, TVB will not mention them. That's why there are so many people leaving!" When asked if she has considered moving over to CTI? She said: "At least they treat the veterans like humans and artists. However, when we were discussing Divas In Distress, I found out I get to collaborate with Liza Wang and forgot about it! (You mind turning from a FaDan into a housewife?) All goddesses will get old eventually, I accumulated experience and for every age, I want to portray a role that matches my age."

  • Alex Fong No Standpoint: There Will Be Double TV Queen This Year
Alex Fong and the cast of A Great Way To Care II had an end-of-filming dinner yesterday. Some of the cast including, Tavia Yeung, Aimee Chan, Edwin Siu and Yoyo Mung were absent. Alex joked: "Aimee is in Malaysia having coffee and Yoyo went to some island in the South Pacific to do something I don't know! Tavia went to Australia for work. (Is Yoyo and Ekin Cheng planning their wedding there?) I don't know!" However, it was understood Yoyo is just working in Shanghai. Alex expressed now that he has completed this series, he is going to take a break and spend some time with his family. When speaking of the TV Queen battle? He said: "I've been working in Mainland in the past two years, haven't been following! (Tavia or Kate Tsui?) Pretty good, maybe we'll have two TV Queens this year! (Film more series and join the TV King competition?) I'm not a TVB Son, didn't sign a contract with them. How can I be TV King?!" It was rumored, Tavia was out partying while she was working in Mainland? Alex supported his partner: "She is professional. Besides the drinking incident she had earlier, she gets to work on time every day. (Were your frightened by Tavia's Pinocchio nose?) Didn't really pay attention to that, I don't know!"

  • Kevin Cheng Gets 10 Stitches On his Eye

The other day, Kevin Cheng injured his right eye, bursting the blood vessels, while shooting for Mainland drama Ip Man. He immediately stopped working and flew back to HK for surgery and treatment.
Virgina Lok appeared at the Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital to handle the paperwork for admitting Kevin into the hospital. She said: "I got a call and learned of Kevin's injury. He's a little frustrated, perhaps because he's in a lot of pain and has to come back to HK alone." Because of the accident, Kevin loses over a million HKD worth of canceled jobs.
Yesterday at 1pm, Kevin was wearing an eye patch and sunglasses as a white car pulled up to the hospital to pick him up. When reporters asked about the accident and what exactly happened? He did not respond. Kevin later accepted an interview over the phone, "I got 10 stitches, the doctor said he used a very thin thread for the stitches and the scar should be very small. That's why I had to get more stitches. I think by next week, when my eye stops swelling, I can start working again. There will bound to be accidents in filming, luckily filming for the series is almost complete. I'm in a hurry, I want to go back and finish it up. (Worried you might be disfigured?) Can't worry or think too much. It has already happened, just got to deal with the circumstances!" Virgina expressed Kevin did not have to do a resurfacing surgery, but will have to go in for a followup visit next week to remove the stitches. Good friend Ben Wong accompanied Kevin to the hospital, he expressed Kevin is doing fine and is still handsome despite the 10 stitches.

  • Audience Complains Kate Tsui's 1 Second Gang Rape Scene

In the latest TVB series, Highs and Lows, Kate Tsui puts her Miss HK image behind her and played a tragic character. She had to play a drug addict and get gang raped by 4 men. She is now a hot favorite for the TV Queen title based on her role in this series. Last night, the infamous gang rape scene broadcasted, but it was a huge disappointment for audience. The scene was about Lee Ka Ding injecting drugs into Kate, making her lose consciousness and then four men start laughing, "When is it my turn?" In that whole scene, there was no place that allowed Kate to develop her character and the entire gang rape scene was just a few seconds. The viewers who have been watching 22 episodes of the series were very disappointed. Yesterday the OPCA received 3 complaints on the related scene.
Yesterday Kate was in Shanghai to attend an auto race event. She accepted an interview over the phone and expressed she's grateful to have everyone's attention. She said: "Don't be upset. When I was filming that scene, I gave it all I got and followed what the director told me to do. The edited version gave audience room for some imagination. After all, there are limitations on television. Actually, the message behind the whole scene is the most important. We want to promote anti-drugs and show what drugs can lead to as a consequence. So that scene just touched on it. I think it's good to leave some room for imagination. Aiya! It's not nice to see me take off my clothing either! (You just turned into a victim out of nowhere?) Didn't think about it. (Netizens praised your acting improved a lot?) I'm very happy. Well then, I'll have to drive faster in the race, hope everyone will watch until the finale!" As a result, Kate ended the race in 5th place, her time was 3 minutes 14 seconds. First place was Chin Kar Lok, 3 minutes 7 seconds.
Producer Lam Chi Wah expressed it is related to the television scale, and to take the audience's feelings into account. They didn't want the audience to feel disturbed, therefore how! that scene was explained was reasonable. He said: "We didn't cut that scene, Netizens have been focused too much on the gang rape scene, that they are thinking too much. We did say before that the story will indirectly explain that the rape happened, but won't show the process. (But Fala Chen's bra-revealing scene was broadcasted!) That scene won't make people feel uncomfortable in reality." Netizens wanted a 'refund'? The producer expressed he will continue to make more good series to repay the audience.
Ella Koon responded to audience's disappointment of the gang rape, she said: "Really? Her acting is great, every one of us had a lot of room to develop the roles. That scene was suppose to promote anti-drugs. Why are the audience so psycho and want to watch gang rape?" But Ella supported Kate, "Perhaps it's an issue of television scale and editing, the scene wasn't used after all, that is a little disappointing."

  • 2013 TVB Calendar
The 2013 TVB Calendar is back! You can go look through all the months below and feel free to leave your thoughts. These might not be the official pictures since it seems like this is just a leak...

    \\
    The rest of the months...

January- Bosco Wong, Aimee Chan, Kate Tsui, Raymond Lam, Linda Chung
Linda looks like she doesn't belong since she's standing so far apart and smiling while the other people are giving smoldering looks. lol
Theme: Sexy Young Siu Sangs and Fadans

February: Roger Kwok, Michael Tse, Michael Miu, Tavia Yeung, and Fala Chen
The photoshopped ring and roses look a little cheesy but sometimes I enjoy a little cheese.
    Theme: Established Vets and Fala?

March- Nancy Wu, Christine Kuo, Kristal Tin, Mandy Wong, Sharon Chan, Selena Li
Very model-esque type poses. I like that Kristal is the only one wearing pants.
    Theme: Sexy Rising Fadans

April- Vincent Wong, Him Law, Jason Chan, Ron Ng, Kenneth Ma, Chris Lai, Edwin Siu
Why are the people on the left look like they're running away while the guys on the right look like they're running towards something? I like the whole theme though although I almost didn't recognize Kenneth!
    Theme: Rugged Siu Sangs

May- Nancy Sit, Susanna Kwan, Louise Lee, Michelle Yim
I wish they added some male veterans to this.
    Theme: Valued Female Veterans

June- Evergreen Mak, Lau Dan, Sunny Chan, Raymond Wong, Ben Wong, Raymond Cho
A mix of lead and supporting actors. I really like all these guys in their bow ties and ! jeans. It's suave yet casual.
Theme: Dads of TVB? haha, I don't know

June- Toby Chan, Carat Cheung, Rebecca Zhu, Sonjia Kwok, Tracy Ip
Why'd they stick these pretty girls in such an awkward pose? Even though Sonjia is older than the rest of these ladies, I think she looks the most beautiful and classy.
    Theme: Miss Hong Kong

August- Samantha Ko, Lin Xia Wei, Natalie Tong, Eliza Sam, Sire Ma, Katy Kung, Vivien Yeo
Most of these girls are pretty short so nice photoshop on making them look like they have long legs. haha. Natalie and Christine Kuo should have switched months.
Theme: New Generation Fa Dans... or oily legged gals :P

September- King Kong, Louis Yuen, Johnson Lee, Wong Cho Lam, Amigo Chiu
I don't know why this is one of my favorite months. It's probably because they look so happy and it fits their personality.
    Theme: Happy Hosts

October- Eric Tsang, Astrid Chan, Liza Wang, Dodo Chen, Patrick Dunn, Natalis Chan
If there's any type of special program going on, you can expect to see one of these veteran faces to be hosting.
    Theme: Respected Hosts

November- Kevin Cheng, Wayne Lai, Myolie Wu, Moses Chan
The anniversary month belongs to these recent TVB Best Actor and Best Actress recipients. I wish that Myolie and Kevin were next to each other since they're also matching!
Theme: Kings and Queen of TVB

December- Kenny Wong, Eddie Kwan, Ruco Chan, Koni Liu, Pierre Ngo, Queenie Chu, Oscar Leung
I'm so happy to see Oscar! I was worried he wasn't going to be in the calendar since I would have thought he w! ould be w! ith the other guys. I like the happy celebration in this month.
    Theme: Happy New Year!

Omissions: I'm both surprised and not surprised that Shirley Yeung is not in this. She would have easily fit in the Miss Hong Kong picture, but her popularity has also greatly declined due to her scandals. Maybe she wasn't in the country? Actually, Kayi Cheung could have been in this too but I'm thinking she was on vacation at the time.
Of the younger generation, I would have thought that they would add Benjamin Yuen, JJ Jia (she's not managed by them but she does film a lot of series), and maybe Cilla Kung? I just realized that Elaine Yiu isn't in this either.
Some of the supporting actors that I think they could have added is Derek Kwok, Angela Tong, Florence Kwok, Tsui Wing, Joyce Tang, etc.
Recently signed former ATV stars Alice Chan, Joey Meng, and Elena Kong are not in this either. Not surprised about the first 2 but Elena is featured in a lot of series so she would be my pick for biggest glaring omission.
I could keep going on about people who are missing, but I'll just be happy for those who made it!

My favorite months are (in no particular order): January, March, April, June, September, November and December. So basically, I like the ones where everyone is cheesing it up for the cameras or giving their best smoldering look. Overall, I like the calendar, but my judgement could be clouded by the fact that I'm so happy that it's back! Now I just need to get my hands on it.
