Director Sun Jianjun said on Monday that his latest action-packed movie "Switch" won't be released until 2013, the Beijing News reports.
The director was interviewed after he finished recording the closing song of the movie in Beijing. The movie was originally slated for release during the National Day holiday, but was postponed to November 2 due to the suddenly illness of the movie's soundtrack producer Tan Yizhe.
Sun unveiled another reason for the delay during his interview. Chuck Comisky, the 3D vision effects director of the movie, was unsatisfied with the special effects. "There are 1,200 special effect shots. Four hundred of them were returned by Comisky," Sun said, "So we won't finish the movie within the year. But we can make it in early 2013."
The closing song was performed by two singers from the TV show "Voice of China." San Bao composed the music and Albert Leung wrote the lyrics.
