Frankie Gao appears in public for the first time since his discharge from hospital
The Taiwanese artiste who was diagnosed with leukemia was spotted at the cinema with his two children yesterday
Frankie Gao Ling Feng appeared in public for the first time after he stopped receiving chemotherapy at the hospital last month.
The Taiwanese veteran artiste was diagnosed with leukemia last year and had been hospitalised to undergo chemotherapy until Feb 1 this year, when he decided to discharge from the hospital.
He had been staying out of the public eye since then, until he was spotted at the cinema with his children yesterday afternoon.
After alighting from their car, Frankie's daughter helped him to adjust his clothes while his son leaned on his shoulder. They then proceeded to the cinema to watch a movie, and Frankie looked energetic that day, showing no signs of illness.
When asked if he was worried that there are a lot of germs outside that could affect his condition, Frankie jokingly replied, "That's why I'm covering my mouth with two masks!"
Frankie further revealed that he has been relying on anit-oxidant food to strengthen his immune system. He also felt that he has been recovering faster ever since he moved back to his home from the hospital to recuperate. However, he has not returned to the hospital for his medical checkup yet.
"My daughter would accompany me to watch a movie every week, and I feel very happy and staying happy helps me to recover better. Life is like a gamble, it's either you choose to stay at home or stay in the hospital for chemotherapy sessions. But I chose to stay at home."
Recalling the painful experiences of chemotherapy, Frankie said that almost all of his hair has dropped off, and he had a really tough time during that period in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Frankie's ex-wife Jin You Zhuang recently claimed that Frankie lost a huge sum of money from investments and the property that was originally intended to be given to her had been used for mortgage. Responding to the claims, Frankie said, "I don't owe anyone money."
