Ming Dao pestered by brother’s creditor
The Taiwanese artiste's brother chalked up a huge debt and debtors are now hot on Ming Dao's heels
Taiwanese artiste Ming Dao recently said that he would not repay his brother's debt on his behalf as he felt that his brother should take responsibility for his own actions.
According to the Taiwanese media, Ming Dao's brother disappeared after accumulating a debt of NT$ 6.5 million (approximately S$ 270,000). He also cited Ming Dao as his loan guarantor without his knowledge, throwing the responsibility to his actor brother.
The creditor approached Ming Dao when he showed up at the broadcasting station for the premiere of his upcoming drama Beauties of the Emperor on Monday, and demanded him to return the money owed by his brother.
Ming Dao appeared shocked at the sudden appearance of the creditor and was quickly pulled away by his manager before he could react. They hurriedly entered the lift to avoid the creditor who angrily demanded for Ming Dao to "pay up". The creditor also said, "You don't intend to return the money that you owe? Are you saying that our money is not hard-earned money?"
After the premiere ended, the creditor blocked the exit and prevented Ming Dao from leaving the broadcasting station, demanding a response from him. Ming Dao wanted to explain to the creditor, but was once again pulled away by his manager.
During an interview, Ming Dao confirmed that his brother is in a huge debt and misused his driving license to take out a loan. Ming Dao reiterated that he would not return the money for his brother. "My brother is an adult, he should take responsibility for his own actions and face the consequences himself."
His manager also asked the creditor to look for Ming Dao's brother directly instead of pestering Ming Dao, or they may call the police if necessary.
