• Madonna stalker given three years probation

  A stalker who was caught outside popstar Madonna's New York apartment twice in 2010 has been sentenced to three years probation for his obsessive behaviour, despite him insisting he no longer ''feels the same about her''.

  A fan who resisted arrest when caught outside Madonna's apartment was sentenced to three years' probation yesterday (03.01.13).
  Former firefighter Robert Linhart returned to court for sentencing following a conviction in November after having already been arrested twice in September 2010 for stalking his idol outside her home.
  He was taken into custody at the time when police found his SUV car parked by the 'Hollywood' hitmaker's New York apartment building.
  After being caught at the scene, where he had spray-painted love notes to Madonna on posters nearby, the then-59-year-old fanatic was arrested for a second time when he returned several days later.
  Despite his previous obsessive behaviour, Robert insists he no longer has feelings for the star.
  Referring to Madonna's younger boyfriend Brahim Zaibat, Robert quipped: ''She's enjoying her life with her 24-year-old boyfriend.
  ''I don't feel the same about her. The woman advocates free speech in Russia and then she has her security violate my right to free speech.''
  Robert's lawyer Lawrence LaBrew has confirmed to The New York Daily News newspaper that they are currently appealing the conviction, arguing that there is no crime against adoring the 54-year-old popstar.
  Lawrence also fought against his client receiving time in prison as Robert's career involved him saving the lives of citizens - a job which he believes shouldn't be looked upon lightly.
  He said: ''Mr Linhart served with the New York City Fire Department for 20 years. He put his life on the line for the citizens of New York.''

  Gossip site TMZ reports that Kanye, 35, was also questioned about the tinted windows on his car, however the rapper was let off lightly and given only a caution before the police sent him on his way.
  Since announcing his and Kim's good news on stage in Atlantic City on Sunday evening (30.12.12), Kanye has reportedly agreed to continue filming for his girlfriend's reality TV show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and spin off show 'Kourtney And Kim Take Miami' to show her how much he cares for her.
  A source revealed: ''Kanye will do anything for Kim. He didn't want to be on at all - or one episode. But he gave in for Kim.''
  Kim - who is said to be around 12 weeks pregnant - has shared how keen she is to find out the sex of their unborn child, but is more focused on it being healthy and well.
  She said: ''Of course I do want to know [the sex]. I can't find out yet, but I do want to know.
  ''No preference, I just want a healthy baby.''

  She explained in an interview with Grazia magazine: ''When I do yoga, Flynn holds on to me like a koala. You have to find ways to multitask as a mum.''

  The 63-year-old French actor - who moved to Belgium in December over his anger at French President Francois Hollande's proposed 75 per cent tax hike on the super-rich - officially became a Russian citizen this morning (03.01.13) after President Vladimir Putin accepted his request to become a national.
  Kremlin officials confirmed the news on Twitter, posting: ''Vladimir Putin signs order giving Gerard Depardieu Russian citizenship.''
  'Asterix and Obelix' actor Gerard is well-known in Russia and a regular in TV ads for Sovietsky Bank.
  The controversial actor put his £40 million Parisian home on the market and moved to tax-friendly Belgium last month, declaring in an open letter that he planned to turn over his passport and French social security card because of Hollande's new tax on millionaires.
  France's civil code states that a person must take up a new nationality in order to relinquish their French citizenship.
  He ranted: ''We no longer have the same homeland, I am a true European, a citizen of the world, as my father always taught me to believe.''
  Gerard has become notorious for his erratic behaviour in recent years, most memorably when he urinated into a bottle on an airplane when he was denied permission to use the on-board toilet.

  The stars of Dancing On Ice have squeezed themselves into Lycra and covered themselves in sequins to show off their outfits at the launch of the show. 

  Pamela Anderson showed off her shape in a baby pink dress that boasted a plunging neckline to ensure her curves were on show. 

  The 45-year-old teamed the dress with a pair of see-through heels and her signature blonde hair flowing down around her shoulders.

  The Baywatch star smiled for the cameras as she showed off her new skating costume ahead of the first show on Sunday. 

  Pamela wasn't the only to show of her ice rink-ready style all the other contestants had their costumes on ready for the photo call at the Southbank studios in London. 

  Former Towie star Lauren Goodger competed for attention and showed off her shape in a bright aqua number that boasted sequins and tassels.

  Anthea Turner joked that she was regretting singing up for the show and quipped: 'We are all asking ourselves - why?! I don't know, it seemed like a great idea in about August.'

  Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle said that her sporting career wouldn't help her on the ice.

  She said: 'It's completely different, everything that I've been taught for the past twenty years - straight legs, keep your body upright... and suddenly! my coach! is telling me to bend your knees and my panic mode is to go straight leg and then I'm flat on my back on the ice.'
