F4 performs in million-dollar costumes
The Taiwanese boyband had a joyous reunion at the recording of Spring Festival Gala's program
To present a matured version of F4's princely image from their Meteor Garden days, the organisers of Jiangsu TV's Spring Festival Gala specially engaged reknowned Taiwanese stylist Chen Sun Hua, to tailor-make stage costumes that are worth more than a million Taiwan dollars (approximately S$ 44,000).
When asked on the designs, the veteran stylist shared that each of the four members had their individual concerns and explained, "Vic is fitter now and he hopes to go for the low-key look while Jerry has lost weight and wants to try clothes of lighter tones."
"Vanness is trying to lose weight now because he's too buffed up while Ken is troubled by water retention issues," he continued.
More than 10 pairs of shades were prepared for Jerry, who recently injured his eyes during drama filming. Though his condition worsened after consecutive days of work without sufficient rest, the rare opportunity for a F4 gathering lifted his spirits.
The actor quipped, "It's been so long since we've collaborated. I'm really happy. It's a pity about my eye [condition]."
Despite a four-year hiatus since F4 reunited, the group shared just as much chemistry as before when they turned up in similar grey-black casual wear for the rehearsals yesterday. The four guys were seen joking around with each other during the recording, and they completed the run-through in two hours without a hitch.
Jiangsu TV's Spring Festival Gala is slated to air on the first day of the Chinese New Year.
