The celebrity couple registered their marriage in Japan and held a low-key wedding dinner early this week
Yesterday, Ekin uploaded a photo of a pair of bears embroidered with the initials of their English names, "E" and "Y", and announced the good news via his microblog. He wrote: "We have moved onto a new stage in life together and we are grateful. From now on, we will not be lonely again. Thank you!"
According to Ekin's manager, the couple apparently kept their wedding a secret from their guests, as the singer-actor sent out the "invitations" in the form of text messages that asked for a "dinner gathering in Tokyo", just one week before the actual day.
As it turns out, the invited guests only found out that the "dinner gathering" was in fact a wedding celebration for Ekin and Yoyo when they arrived at the venue, and most of them had turned up empty-handed, proving the 'success' of the secret.
True to their low-profile mannerisms, the banquet held at a French restaurant in Tokyo was a simple and heart-warming affair, and the wedding solemnisation saw a touching scene when the couple choked in tears as they read their vows.
In other related news, Ekin's ex-girlfriends gave their blessings to the newlywed after hearing about the wedding. Hong Kong singer Gigi Leung expressed her well wishes while actress Maggie Shiu, who once shared an eight-year relationship with Ekin, congratulated the couple and said, "Wishing them happiness and bliss!"
