Hong Kong entertainer Eason Chan‘s (陈奕迅) actress wife Hilary Tsui (徐濠萦) has scored a spectacular own goal.

In a finger-pointing post on her microblog account Monday morning, the 38-year-old Hilary criticized Chinese tourists for taking snaps of her, husband Eason and daughter Constance Chan (陈康堤) when they were holidaying in Vancouver.

“Impolite Chinese! We, a family of three, are enjoying our vacation. We were having a normal lunch but you just took photos nonstop! Not even bothering to ask first! You have no idea how to respect people!” she wrote, accompanied by photos of the tourist she took in return.

This post attracted over 70,000 comments in two hours, with most slamming her for being rude and looking down upon Chinese.

“Show us some dignity. Emigrate overseas. Do not step into China any more to make even a cent,” one netizen responded.

Realizing her criticism had spiraled out of control, she deleted the original post and left another one, confirming she is Chinese and was just infuriated by her compatriots not having any manners.

The incident took another turn, however, when the female tourist she accused of being rude opened up a microblog account herself and explained she was simply playing games on her phone, not photographing Hilary’s family.

The woman, registered as DRIFTTOCA on Sina Weibo, said she explained this to Hilary at that time, but the actress did not believe her.

Now she is demanding an apology from Hilary.

Ha.

Increasing numbers of netizens are attacking Hilary, ridiculing her for naively believing she is still an A-list star and inadvertently showing just how rude and arrogant she can be.
