Tony Leung Chiu-wai is a Hong Kong actor born June 27, 1962 in Hong Kong.
BIOGRAPHY:
Tony Leung was born in Hong Kong parents from Taishan in Guangdong province, China, and was raised by his mother.
It becomes an actor known for his roles on television and in film. He showed his versatility by playing in over 60 films.
It pierces through his role in the action film Hard Boiled John Woo in 1992 alongside Chow Yun-fat. But he does not get international fame with City of Sadness by Hou Hsiao-hsien in 1989, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
Tony Leung has frequently collaborated with director Wong Kar-wai, including his roles as lonely policeman in Chungking Express (1994), an expatriate in Argentina in homosexual Happy Together (1997), a victim of adultery in In the Mood for Love (1999), for which he won the Best Actor award at Cannes, and writer science fiction in 2046 (2004).
It is widely considered one of the best Hong Kong actors of his generation. Robert De Niro is an admirer and qualified response to the Asian Clark Gable.
It is also friends with the actor and director Stephen Chow.
Privately, he follows a stable relationship with actress Carina Lau since 1989. They married in 2008.
Leung also leads a career as a singer of Cantopop and Mandarin ! pop. He has sung the theme Infernal Affairs with Andy Lau.
