Tickets for Azerbaijan-hosted Eurovision 2012 song contest to go on sale on Feb. 28
BAKU, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tickets for the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest to be held in Azerbaijani capital of Baku will go on sale on Feb. 28 and can be purchased online, the official website of the contest said on Wednesday.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest under the motto "Light your fire" will be held in Baku Crystal Hall, which is under construction in Baku.
The Baku Crystal Hall is the arena with a capacity of up to 23, 000 spectators. Approximately 16,000 people will be able to attend each of the three Eurovision Song Contest live shows in May. The Eurovision 2012 semi-final rounds will be held in Baku on May 22- 24, and the finals on May 26.
Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of the Azerbaijani pop duo Ell & Nikki at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.
The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. Forty- three countries have confirmed their participation in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.
