Faye Wong apologises for concert accident
Faye Wong has apologised for an accident, which left some 11 fans with minor injuries, at her concert in Chongqing, China.
At 8pm on Friday when the show was about to start, Faye was at the backstage preparing for her entrance.
Suddenly, the seats in two sections started to collapse, which resulted in chaos and the about 7,000 people were evacuated.
Later the same night, Faye apologised through her weibo: "I hope everyone is alright. We will continue tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
"I'm sorry it frightened so many people and I apologise for the inconvenience. Sorry, sorry."
The concert organiser said the concert has been rescheduled to Sunday but Faye's manager Katie Chan said it was not confirmed.
"We are still in discussion. If we cannot keep the scheduled performance, the organisers will refund the tickets," she said in a statement.
"Some of the seats were lifted a foot and a half from the ground and thus they began to collapse.
"Many people were frightened, which caused a commotion. Due to the situation, the organisers decided to stop the concert and evacuated the audience," Katie explained.
"At the time of the incident, Faye was still beneath the stage. When she heard of the commotion, she was startled and kept asking if anyone was hurt.
"We heard from our staff members that a few fans sustained minor injuries.
"Once we have ensured that everyone is safe, we will start to investigate the incident."
