- AN XMAS MIRACLE ON DEC 12, 2012, BUS 666
You'd think a CCTV monitor mounted on a bus numbered 666 would be the perfect set-up to record some horrific demonic possession scenes on public transport.
But for Wang Liying (王立英), who lives in Chengdu, China, and the passengers on the bus that December 12, 2012 day, something more wonderful happened — a video of the miracle of life.
A very pregnant Liying, 39, was on her way to The People's Hospital of Xindu District early Wednesday morning after feeling unwell the night before.
She still had about a week to go before her due date and she told reporters she was heading to the doctor's for a check-up.
"I didn't think I would give birth on a bus," said the surprised mom.
In the clip, Liying is sitting by the door with her three-year-old son Xixi when her contractions start at 8:01 am. Within minutes her waters burst, and by 8:09 am she's pulled her trousers down and begins to deliver her baby.
Five minutes later, Liying lifts the child up, holds the boy upside down and smacks his bum to make him cry.
Several passengers can be seen helping her and giving her a blanket to keep her newborn warm.
Bus driver You Zhixu visits Liying and her baby at the hospital.Bus driver You Zhixu said he heard Liying screaming after the bus left the Dacheng Bridge stop.
"There were eight passengers on-board, and a woman shouted that someone was having a baby, and another was calling the emergency response center. Everyone panicked," he said.
"So I said I would drive the bus to the nearest hospital (which was the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College) and they agreed," he added.
Speeding at 120 kph Zhixu beat a couple of red lights before spotting an ambulance coming toward them about 15 minutes later.
"I flashed the lights and the passengers all waved for it to stop," he said.
By then the baby had already come. Liying took just 15 minutes to give birth to her second boy, although she told reporters it felt like a century. According to doctors, the child, weighing 3.6kg, was five days early.
Zhixu checked on Liying and her baby after work that day and was relieved to find them well.
"I've read reports like this in the papers and now I'm part of this amazing story," he said laughing. "I was more nervous than sending my own wife into the labor room. My hands were shaking!"
Meanwhile, the baby's daddy is working in Chongqing, some 300km away from Chengdu. "I'm a divorcee," said Liying. "[Huang, the father] was a colleague at work and we dated last year. I left the job in May and returned to my hometown. I haven't heard from him since and he doesn't answer my calls."
However, reporters managed to contact Huang on the phone and he was overjoyed at the news of his fatherhood.
He told them there were no issues between him and Liying, saying, "I'll deal with that when we meet."

Since he continues as the TV King, he is getting paid the same amount, no wonder he joked he's a bargain, "I haven't had a pay raise in years. Artists just want more opportunities to perform, not going back to the company to punch in (time cards). I will pray for my former colleagues. It's useless talking about it, just get frustrated the more we talk about it."
Nancy expressed this year she spent Christmas with her boyfriend for the first time, but they celebrated together with a large group of friends. Also, earlier Stephen Chan threw a Dooms Day party, but Natalie did not attend. She expressed: "We keep in touch by SMS, but he didn't invite me to the party. He revealed on Christmas Eve, there was a locust that bumped into the glass of his window in his home and fainted on the balcony. He said: "Do you all want to know how I spent Christmas Eve? I don't usually out because I stay home to do chores. So, I wiped down my windows and clean them so well, there isn't a speck of dust. Last night when I was watching TV, I suddenly heard a 'dong' sound on my window, so I walked over to see what it was. I saw a locust-like insect on the floor. It probably wanted to fly into my home, but I cleaned my windows so well, it thought there was no glass and could easily fly in. But, the locust hit itself so hard on the glass it fainted. I was thinking if I should rescue it or not, but thinking deeper, he can't be rescued." He added 'Batman' appeared on his balcony and ate the locust. After Oscar finished telling his story, Sharon and the other guests applauded.

Ron said he does not believe his good brother Raymond Lam wants to leave TVB because of the earlier award results, he said: "It's just a rumor. TVB treats him well. (Comfort him since he didn't win any awards?) I'll comfort him when I see him, I did watch his series. He and Kate Tsui did very well, it's quite disappointing!" Ron has been busy shooting in Shanghai, but he has been following Eric Tsang's recent slapping case and Oscar Leung, who had suddenly gotten involved. Ron said: "I don't believe Eric would do that. Whether Oscar's comments are too over or not, it all depends on how the individual sees it. I don't think it's a problem! (Oscar refuses to apologize?) I believe Oscar is supporting Eric until the end." Earlier Kelly Fu exposed because she was too into character, she actually fell for Ron while they were working on Triumph in the Skies II together? Ron laughed: "Thank you! But, I think she's just talking about the series! If a female confesses to me, I would feel shy and embarrassed, but she didn't take any actions. She's a good colleague, and handles the love scenes well. (Any love sparks?) We'll have to see if there is a third installment, talk about it then!"
- ERIC TSANG GRASSED UP BY BEST FRIEND
The arrest of veteran actor Eric Tsang (曾志伟) last week has sent shockwaves across the Hong Kong showbiz industry.
It is rumored the arrest was made after Eric's good friend, singer Edmond Leung (梁汉文), testified to save his own skin.
Edmond witnessed the dispute earlier this month when Eric allegedly slapped Kenny Wong (黄浩), the owner of the restaurant where some HK celebrities were accused of taking drugs.
The 59-year-old Eric was arrested last Wednesday and stayed at the police station for questioning for nearly nine hours.
In line with procedure, Eric had his fingerprints and mugshots taken, and spent four hours giving his statement.
When police officers told him he now has his own criminal file and number, Eric broke down in tears.
Singer Edmond was the only celebrity friend who was not invited to Eric's "Doomsday Party" on December 20.
When asked whether he sold out Eric, Edmond immediately looked down and refused to say anything more.
