Top 10 box office Chinese movies of all time

At present, mainland movie box office set new records very fast. In 2010, we still celebrated Feng Xiaogang's "Tangshan Earthquake" and Jiang Wen's "Let the Bullets Fly" to hit 600 million Yuan box office. While in 2012, "Painted Skin 2″ and "Lost in Thailand" had exceeded 700 million Yuan. 1. Lost in Thailand  (2012)人再囧途之泰囧 – 721 million Yuan

"Lost in Thailand," which cost only 30 million yuan ($ 4.8 million) and was made by actor-turned green-hand director Xu Zheng, earned 700 million yuan in less than two weeks after its debut on Dec.12, exceeding "Painted Skin II " as the No. 1 box office movie.
2. Painted Skin 2: The Resurrection  (2012) 画皮2 – 702 million Yuan

Painted Skin II: The Resurrection in 3D broke all the box office records in mainland China, raking in $ 70 million RMB on opening day, June 28th, 2012!
3. Let the Bullets Fly (2010) 让子弹飞 – 676 million Yuan
Action comedy "Let The Bullets Fly" by actor-director Jiang Wen, is the No.3 most commercially successful Chinese film of all-time, having sold nearly 676m($ 82 million) in tickets.
4 Aftershock (Tangshan Earthquake) (2010) 唐山大地震 – 673 million Yuan

China's summer blockbuster "Aftershock" has broken the box-office record for a Chinese movie in the domestic market, taking in 673 million yuan on the mainland.
5. The Flowers Of War  金陵十三衩 – 592 million Yuan

"The Flowers of War", Zhang Yimou's epic Nanjing-set drama, grossed more than half a billion RMB. The total makes it the fifth highest grossing Chinese film of all time in China.
6. The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate (2011) 龙门飞甲 – 540 million

"Flying Swords of Dragon Gate"  generated more than 540 million at the box office across China since its opening Dec 15th, 2011.
7. If You Are The One II (2010) 非诚勿扰2  – 473 million Yuan

Feng Xiaogang's offbeat romantic comedy of 2010, "If You Are the One II," the film stars Ge You and Shu Qi, reprising their roles in the original. It's a big hit in China.
8. The Founding of a Republic  建国大业 – 420 million Yuan

"The Founding of a Republic" earned 420 million at the box office, the eighth-highest-grossing domestic movie of all time.
9. Beginning Of The Great Revival (2009) 建党伟业 409 million Yuan

Beginning of the Great Revival, known as The Founding of a Party in China and a companion piece to 2009′s blockbuster The Founding of a Republic, details the historic events surrounding what is referred to as the Chinese Revolution, the period from 1911 to 1921, when Sun Yat-sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty and planted the roots of what has become today's Chinese Communist government.
